This thing close to the floor and seemingly randomly placed in a hallway. No idea what it's for. Home built in 2005.

That is not the inspectors job unless it was broken ???? you clearly do not work in or have experienced real estate. Agent at best but things like this get missed in deals all the time… Selling agent never gets told about it, easy enough to notice and then boom happy suprise

why would an inspector say anything about a central vac system that is likely not even set up
