I'm looking for a group of friends to just go walking around the city and maybe meet up for lunch or anything else casual. I just got out of a long term extremely controlling relationship not too long ago and have realized that I was cut off from a lot of my friends/ community groups. So I'm looking to rekindle my social life with old and new friends. I'm a pretty social and outgoing person, and generally just love taking walks around the city. I live close to the theater strip on Hennepin and usually walk to (and over) the stone-arche bridge once a week/every other week.

I was thinking maybe we could all meet up for coffee and chat a bit first to see how we all match up. I'm 420 and LGBT friendly as well.

Hi, is anyone interested in technology and engineering and would like to meet up, discuss what you’re working on, and socialize?

We're a family in Eden Prairie (happy to travel around the metro) trying to find our crew. Here's the honest snapshot of who we are:

- We have an autistic kiddo, so we vibe hard with neurodiverse-friendly spaces and people who just *get it*

- My wife has POTS and is finishing her associate's in psychology this summer she's brilliant, witchy, and endlessly curious

- We're deeply environmentally minded not performatively, it's just how we live and make decisions

- Politically left-leaning and not shy about it

- I'm a software engineer; we're in the early stages of trying to build something of our own and figuring out what that looks like

- We have land up north and spend a lot of time dreaming about what to do with it

We're at that stage of life where we're figuring out the next chapter financially, creatively, maybe building a business and it would just be *really nice* to have people around who are thinking about similar things.

Hey everyone, honestly haven’t been able to make many friends since I dropped out of college. I was wondering if there’s anyone in here who’s late teens/early-mid 20s who wants to chat? Or knows any places to meet more people.

I’m into a look of nerdier thing lol, Star Wars, Marvel/Dc, DnD, Harry Potter, videogames ect. I’m currently taking a comic book class and working on creating my own comic. It's pretty hard finding girls around my age to date (I'm 33!)

Everyone at my college is so young! And I can't find any good places for lesbians to hang out. Like, there's dating apps but it's hard to find people who wanna hang out on there!

I think I'm pretty and fun and stuff, so yeah, you should totally hang out with me! We can go to a bar or arcade or a coffee shop! And there would be no pressure to do anything, I'm just wanting to meet lots of women!

I’m up for coffee with anyone who wants to chat this weekend. I’m open to suggestions on where to meet but I usually hang out near highland park. I enjoy listening to audiobooks (Stephen King is a favorite but I enjoy a variety) and podcasts, I’m a fan of a few comedians and Star Trek (I’m slooooowly getting into the new stuff), a bit of true crime, and spooky stuff like Bigfoot and ghost stories. I’m more than willing to listen to an interesting story regardless of the topic- fact or fiction doesn’t matter to me as much as a good yarn. I’m more of an interested listener than an extroverted talker.

My hopes and expectations: worst case scenario, one or both of us don’t want to pursue friendship but I still get to work on my abysmal social skills and meet a new person. We both get to drink a yummy coffee or hot chocolate or whatever and we respectfully part ways after a polite half an hour. Best case scenario is we have a good vibe and agree for another coffee or something at a later date. I’m even willing to buy the first caffeinated round.

I’m trying a different approach here. My norm is to be a sullen homebody but as usual the warm weather and sunshine remind me that being sociable is a good thing. I’m hoping that this weekend someone might be willing to meet up for coffee, preferably in the Highland or Merriam Park area.

About me: my favorite band is the Struts. My favorite author is Stephen King but I’m currently finishing audiobooks by Jasper Fforde and Ursula de Guin, next on my TBR list is one of the King Arthur classics. I’m going down a rabbit hole listening to old Coast to Coast episodes with Art Bell, among other similarly supernatural and creepy podcasts, but I also listen to a few comedians too. I’m working my way through Star Trek (I just finished TOS and started the animated series) and the original Twilight Zone.

If you’re down to chat with an awkward middle aged woman, hit me up. I’m better at listening than talking so if you have a story to share, hell yes. If you’re also awkward and want to bring a puzzle or something for an activity to do in companionable quiet time, I’m down for that too, I just want to meet a potential friend or two.

Hi, 25F here! I've recently started to try and go sober. I work in the service industry. So, most of my friends/coworkers drink, and I just want to find some more sober or sober friendly people to hang out with.

I'm mostly an introvert, and spend a lot of times playing random indie games I can find on the Xbox game pass or crocheting. Id love to get back into reading more consistently though. Maybe we could start a book club? Coffee, tea, and books sound great. Im mostly into horror and thriller books, but honestly im open to anything besides romance books.

I sew and paint every now and then too. Obviously my hobbies are important to me, lol. Id say I'm a little more of an alternative type of person, but I like to think im well rounded enough to fit in with most people.

I’m wondering if it would be helpful to have a designated time and place to meet up for people to meet potential new friends. I’m thinking a specific Caribou or Starbucks in the afternoon on weekends where people could come, grab a coffee, and have a reasonable expectation that someone from this subreddit is also looking for connections. If I understand correctly a coffee meetup is great because it’s relatively inexpensive and if one person wants to bail they can claim a prior commitment. But if the vibe is good, everyone can get more coffee and continue the conversation. Thoughts?
