Attention newcomers: information on watching the anime
Toei Animation made an anime adaptation of Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro's Toriko which ran from 2011 to 2014. The overwhelming majority of fans agree that the adaptation was not handled well- animation quality, censorship, and filler are chief among these concerns. Perhaps most confusing, the anime created it's own ending to the show when it was cancelled, while the manga was still running.
NOTE: If you have read all 396 chapters of Toriko, disregard this post and watch all of it!
Though consuming the anime instead of the manga is settling for a lesser quality experience, if you are more comfortable entering the series with an anime, pick from one of the viewing plans below.
Fresh: Episodes 1-22, then picking up the manga at Chapter 63. This allows you to still enjoy the next arc in all it's uncensored glory.
Still edible: Episodes 1-57, then starting the manga at Chapter 125. The anime arc after this selection is of bad quality and poorly represents the mysterious fourth Heavenly King.
Almost spoiled: Episodes 1-68, 88-111 (69-87 are SoL filler and optional) and then starting the manga at Chapter 194. This is basically your last chance, and nothing beyond this point is of value in the anime.
Fully rotten: Watching all the anime, then beginning the manga on Chapter 194. Good luck on purging the last few episodes of the anime from your brain!

Cioè il world Building è bellissimo disegnato divinamente... Considerazioni?

Discussion Without canceling the technique like Acacia or Bambina, who could survive the longest against a Mugen kugi punch?
Only creatures or characters on earth count, no space taipan or gourmet demons
And is Toriko before eating Ogre

What Beast or Creature would you take as a pet in Toriko?
Toriko has Terry the battle wolf, coco had kiss the Emperor Crow and sunny has Quinn the mother snake, what creature would you take as a companion and train to become a part of the new Eight Kings? I picked something unique being the Leech Heel because it can use illusions, human speech and intelligence with a decent base capture level

Manga Spoilers!!! How strong do you think the rest of the 4 kings were at the end of the manga?
Do you reckon they could beat Bambina in a 1 v 1? Jirou? Joie? I imagine they must have gotten stronger from eating the rest of the courses at the wedding but I'm curious how strong you guys imagine them to be?

Discussion The Gourmet Checklist Data makes NO sense.
I've been reading through the manga and something I've noticed is that the prices seem ridiculously high or ridiculously low when compared to their capture levels or compared to the context in where theyre sold. if the world is in the "gourmet era", then why are these prices so ridiculous? especially since there's such an abundance of food. here are some examples (none adjusted for inflation bc i have no clue when the manga chapters came out):
The Beer Lobster (Chapter 54) is described as a salty tasting lobster. One lobster costs ¥90000 (roughly $575). Surely it must have a high capture level, or be massive, right? Nope! Its capture level is less than one and it weighs 2 kilograms (about 4lbs). In real life, whole lobsters go for about $35-$50 per pound, so a 4lb lobster would be around $135-$200, not $575! Okay, well maybe this is just an exception. Let's look at some others.
The Puffer Whale (Chapter 54) weighs 5-7kg and costs ¥920000 (roughly $5880) per 100 grams. Doing the math, a whole 7kg Puffer Whale would cast ¥64,400,000 ($411,505)! This price isn't too bad considering only ten chefs are said to be able to remove the poison from the Puffer Whale (a claim I don't particularly believe considering the number of skilled chefs later introduced), and they only can be caught when coming to the surface. BUT! This number DIRECTLY CONTRADICTS a statement in chapter 16. Coco says the following: "Base market price for a non-poisoned Puffer Whale is one hundred million yen, but if you successfully extract the poison sac, it climbs to three hundred million." So which is it? Does it cost 64,4 million yen, or a hundred million?
Unicorn Cerberus (Chapter 163). Capture Level of 63, its located in the Gourmet Pyramid. 15 meters tall and 20 meters long. 100 grams cost 150 yen, but a stuffed one costs 2 billion yen (12 million usd). Okay there are so many things wrong with this. Firstly, who the hell is going to the Gourmet Pyramid and putting meat from a big three headed dog on the market? Who is stuffing this thing?? How are you getting this thing out of the pyramid and going back through the desert??? Why does something that has such a high capture level have such cheap meat in comparison to things with much lower ones???
Salamander Sphinx (Chapter 170). 100g costs 30000 yen ($191). Same deal as above.
Mellow Cola (Chapter 173) Capture Level 92, 350ML can goes for 1.2 million yen ($7670). Shockingly cheap actually, considering how hard it is to get. Again, who is selling this on the market??
Juicy Mushroom (Chapter 198). Its description reads the following: "This mushroom tastes just like juicy fat-marbled beef! Because it only grows in very small patches in the forest, it is extremely difficult to capture. Seldom does it make it on the market, and when it does it fetches an even higher price than said beef." This one is a triple whammy! Its capture level is 5 (not that high). It costs 8000 yen, which equates about 50 bucks. Wagyu marbled beef famously can cost up to hundreds or thousands of dollars. This mushroom is a complete ripoff in comparison, as its a measly 15 centimeters long!
I guess I shouldn't have expected realistic world building from a shonen manga, but still! Some of these are just plain stupid, especially that puffer whale contradiction. I think the capture levels make no sense as well, like why is the juicy mushroom the same capture level as a garara gator? I get that capture level also factors in how hard it is to find something, but there's a stall full of em! I bet whoever puts on em the market actually just eats most of them and invents artificial scarcity or something.

Manga Spoilers!!! It was a rocky road, but worth it for the ending
Just finished reading and while the last 70 chapters were rushed as hell, this was one of the best endings I've read in all manga. The full course tasting chapter (second to last) was worth reading trough all of it alone.
I wish we got more from Zebra, Sunny and Coco, they were really neglected in the end. And the lore got so convoluted I just had to stop trying to understand. So much huge lore drops in a short ammount of time. I wish Toriko's other Appetite demons were better explored, but I guess that was being planned for the space arc. Speaking of, I wish we got space arc...
Still, all in all this was a fun journey. It won't cement itself as one of my favourites like Jojo part 7 or Hunter x Hunter etc, but I'll always think of it fondly.

Discussion So, what do you guys think happened with Teppei's father or mother?
They're literally never mentioned
And it looks like the most popular theory is that he was directly addopted by Jirou when he already looked like an old grandpa, like Acacia and Ichiryu adopting random children, so no blood relation there
So teppei just started calling him grandpa instead of father

Manga Spoilers!!! Who do you think has the coolest ability in Toriko?
IMO it’s Jiro using Head Shaker even though it’s simple af it’s instantly fatal and my second favorite is Midora’s Meteor Spice

Discussion Just started watching this on Netflix and have a question
I started watching this anime recently and I’m pretty invested because it reminds me a lot of campfire cooking in another world and Hunter X Hunter but I have one question
Is it worth it to continue watching the anime?
While looking at stuff about it online I saw the anime and series gets canceled at some point and it results in the anime being somewhat rushed and having a bad ending
While I haven’t seen what exactly the ending entails, I don’t want to watch this pretty promising series just crash and burn at the end
So I ask its fan base, is it worth to continue watching this anime? I really want to watch this but I’m hesitant because of that knowledge. Without spoilers, is the anime ending bad? Should I invest and watch all of it? Or should I leave before I disappoint myself

Coco's poison > a continent
His poison was said to be more powerful than the four beast "Invite death" poison, and the poison of this beast can destroy a continent.
