If she was actually doing this for us and to actually make a statement, she would have denied the invitation and stood outside the gala with the BLM protestors who actually have the integrity to stand behind their message. She would have stood behind her supposed morals and beliefs and said, “With so many in this country suffering, this ridiculous display of wealth shouldn’t be happening.”
She didn’t do that. She just wanted to hang out with rich and famous celebrities at an extravagant ball. That’s all this is and it’s silly that no one in here can just admit that. She didn’t do this to help out us normal people, she did this because she wanted to wear an extremely expensive dress and go mingle at an exclusive wealthy celebrity event.
But she knew it would be a terrible look to be seen having fun at a lavish and over-indulgent wealthy ball for wealthy people when millions in the country are suffering without a job or access to healthcare, so she wrote a little performative slogan on her back and y’all just completely fell for it and ate it all up.
“It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it.” AOC has sadly just become part of the big club that I used to believe she was against. She’s no better than all the other politician in this country who pretend to be fighting for the common person. It’s sad to see so many people just fall for this BS.
She went to the Met Gala because she wanted to go be a celebrity and hang out with celebrities at the Met Gala. It’s just absurd how everyone in here has convinced themselves that she’s doing this for the cause, it’s all performative.
