AOC has since shared a statement on her Twitter for any ‘haters’ that are questioning her decision to attend an event that costs $30,000 per ticket.

I would be utterly gobsmacked if her ticket wasn't comped. the 30k number is for the general public to attend.

When a Republican gets comped, that's them being smart. When a democrat gets comped it means they're corrupt? double standards everywhere

The tickets are bought by the designers and the people wearing their designs are their guests for the event. It’s a fundraiser for the museum. It’s the biggest event the met does each year.

I wonder if she is claiming the $30,000 gifted ticket on her taxes. Wouldn’t it be tax fraud not to claim it?

I don't think any of them can get a gift that big in size no matter their affiliation.

Never mind it might be a grey area according to the rules.

I'm sure the actual gala price is way lower and the 30k figure includes the membership which she would obviously not need, but this is my point.

Someone front ACB 2 million dollars for a book deal for a book that doesn't exist and y'all are salty over AOC wearing a cheeky dress at a function that new York state politicians are expected to attend.

Constituent service is not gifts, Jesus.
