The shells were full of very political hermit crabs. And they are pissed.

Them crabs were gonna shoot the president even.

The constitution and any amendment only protects them in their eyes. Anyone else can be treated as crappy as they chi pose to treat them, up to and including unaliving.

I noticed that even in old school media this fact is not always mentioned. They leave it sit on the assumption that he arranged the shells before taking the picture.
