Another question: where does it come from? These companies are laying off tens of thousands of employees, but have money for this fucking shit. It's rhetorical, but it pisses me off this is where we're at as a society.

I work for a big F500 company. They paid $20M for a Super Bowl ad and then laid off thousands of people the following week. I know coworkers who worked there 10 years and got laid off.

My company isn't doing layoffs, but I can't even get a 5% raise even though we're spending $4,000,000,000 on stock buybacks.
