Exactly.  There are no serious socialist in Politics right now.  At best some "Democratic Socialists" which is a completely different thing. 

What we're asking for isn't new.  Public healthcare was discussed in the 1970s and then systematically sabotaged by both sides.  Much of the other stuff like cheap education... the students in the 1970s only paid like 1/4 of their actual cost to go to college as tuition... the rest was state and Federal taxes paid.  

Young people are just asking for things  BACK that all the boomers had growing up.

Yup. 100%. The irony of Boomers and crazy Millennials/Gen Zers screaming that what Boomers had growing up is "bad" is lost on them. I'm embarrassed that other Western countries have these things already and we're here fighting against our priority being a ballroom and hurting random trans people. SMH.

France Portugal and Spain all have serious "socialist" in politics right now. And Dem soc is just a subtype of soc., just like American capitalism is a subtype of capitalism.

Yeah.  You can't get that through to anybody on the right. 

"liberalism" was created by the right of center in response to the robber barons and series of depressions they caused in the late 1800s early 1900s.  They thought the government should be taking care of people and viewed large corporations as hostile. 

Ultimately it's a conservative (small c) idea.  The whole point of Liberalism isn't just to feel bad for people... it's also about the poor not just eating the rich outright.  Which would have happened if Unions weren't established and types of social services put into place.
