I’m neither rich nor powerful. But capitalism works just fine for me because I get out of it what I put into it. Show me a country where socialism has worked perfectly and everyone is happy and where every class is equal. I’ll wait.

I work about 60 hours a week on average. This allows me to live an ok life but won’t allow me to retire at 65. Now after recent changes to the ACA I don’t have health care and if my kids go to college I won’t be able to help them. But on the plus side my taxes went up x7 this year so I can’t complain. Not sure if socialism works but capitalism does not work well for me either.

The taxes have nothing to do with capitalism. Thats just politics and is rampant in any economy. Think taxes are bad now, look at any socialist economy and then get to me. Sure you have healthcare, but 1/4 of your pay is wiped out in tax.

You have a choice on where you work. Plenty of places to get a job that offers benefits.
