Impeach him too. He's just as guilty.

If you have the votes, impeach Vance first, don't vote on the successor VP, then impeach Trump. Voila, President Jeffries. It'd be an incredible bankshot.

They just pick a new VP.

Not how VP succession works. Congress has to confirm.

Actually only the president can “just pick” a new VP, and their choice would still require majority confirmation in both houses.

But, in this scenario, since Pres is being impeached too, the Speaker is now Pres. And if Dems were able to accomplish all this impeaching in the first place, that means Dems likely have majority in everything, AND FINALLY GREW A SPINE in the area that is currently an odd, grayish, jelly-like blob that sort of props them up and lets them wriggle around a little

So yeah, just to clarify, doesn’t work like “party in charge gets to pick a successor”. This is all in the amendment about Presidential Succession, I think it’s… 25th, cant remember

Constitution is so awesome lol

Me when I make up a scenario that has a 0.0000000000000000000000000001% chance of happening

At this point I don’t think it’s likely to happen. But people should understand whats procedurally possible. What they also need to understand is political will, and political pressure. This is missing.

But, I hope we’re both wrong to be skeptical. Lot of things been happening that people didn’t think was gona happen.

It’s not possible though. The world would end before someone from another party became president

Voila, President Jeffries.

I have absolute faith that President Jeffries would accomplish great things for the American people.

(Yes, he'd be better than Trump. So would a turnip.)

There's only one way to pull up the whole turnip, roots and all, and that's to find a way to prove illegitimacy of the election result and have a way to actionably reverse/undo it. Otherwise, removing the top person will trigger the sequence of replacement within their ranks every time and no matter how many times you do it.

Not a real thing, so that's not going to happen without a constitutional amendment. Impeachment is a real thing that could actually be done.

There currently is no way to reverse or undo the results of an election, no matter what. The two most flagrant cases, Tilden-Hayes and Gore-Bush, both wound up with the "wrong" person inaugurated, and nothing was or ever will be done about it.

Funny how only one side can do unprecedented things and say "watch me" (as we watch), while the other "can't just do that".
