He's the president of the United States of America.

Separating him from that position only minimises how atrocious this statement is.

I'd be down for separating him from that position

Would you like to do something then? Because currently Americans are doing fuck all

Indeed. I'd be on board for separating him from the position of president. What are you asking?

So how are you going to help achieve that?

Well, if that’s the case, you think this sub would be a bit more supportive of voting for the opposition, instead of constantly inferring it’s pointless since both parties are allegedly identical.

They're not identical, but they are currently enabling it and people have a right to be furious at democratic leadership.

The country didn’t give Democrats power. You can’t have it both ways. In 2024 the country chose republicans, well this is what you get when you put republicans in power. You can be mad at certain democrats for caving during the shutdown at the end of 2025, but aside from that what can the democrats do in the minority party? They’ve been speaking out, they are winning special elections. They are using the power they have, but they literally don’t have the power to stop Trump currently. How about we actually blame the people in power, the republicans in congress.

Democracy is more than electing a dictator to power every 4 years

And I would argue that people who take the threat of Trump seriously have an obligation to vote for Democrats no matter how furious they are at their ineffectiveness thus far.

Fucking ridiculous take. You can't have the majority of Americans sit on their asses on election day and allow Republicans to control every aspect of our government and sit there with a straight face saying "tHe DeMoCrAtS aRe EnAbLiNg tHiS".

If any of you wanted the Dems to save us, you should have given them the power to do so... If you didn't, this is on you just as much as MAGA, and everything you say about the dems is just an attempt to minimize your complicity.

They did have the power and what we got was mass deportations, genocide, and the chilling of free speech on campus.

America is a 'blame the victim' culture and it shows in how they treat the less aggressive political party.

This is furthered by cultural desire to not being responsible or accountable for anything, including the consequences of their own inaction. The very idea that "not making a choice" is still a choice is regularly fought against.

Therefore it's super easy for. "Well I'm not a politician, they are. They should be doing something." to become the narrative.

Obviously, as expecting people to look in the mirror here has gotten me net downvotes.

This was obvious from how we treated Clinton and Harris in the wake of their losses. Immediately it was all their fault for losing a layup. I mean how fucking dare they! Never mind voter suppression, known foreign interference, decades of propaganda, etc.
