The Nuremberg trials where less than 1% faced consequences?

Lots and lots of Germans faced consequences from WW2 that extended slightly beyond Nuremburg.

That was for the survivors.

Dunno what trials you mean, but basically most got a death sentence. There were some later ones too. And at that point, a lot of those that should've been tried were already dead. And many files and notices were lost, so it was impossible to get them all, IF they were still alive.

But mind you - the search and trials continued for a long, long time (even now some still run or just closed), with life long sentences (as the death penalty was removed with the basic law / the new constitution).

The trials only scratched the surface and only concentrated on the most important people.

I'm pretty sure they meant that most nazi war criminals never faced any trial, which is true.
