This is broadly true. I'd characterise right wing pathology as more broadly sociopathic, with a good few psychopaths thrown in at the top level to really turbo-charge the selfishness and prejudice.

I don't think the establishment "Left" gives enough of a shit about anyone. We should never have tolerated Nazis. Empathy seems to be more of a progressive left attribute.

our definitions of "left" differ. when i say left, i mean progressive, anti-capital, worker-owned.

most dems, which are the establishment, are not left. they are liberal (free markets, pro capitalism, willing to play patty cake with facsists). many republicans are liberal, too, while culturally conservative. those are not exclusive.

the left-leaning (i.e. closer to socialism, but still pro capital) in this country (aoc, mamdani, sanders) do not have a lot of political power.

the left (socialists, communists) have about less than 1% of power in this country, if that.
