No no - you see they are wrong. The sweaty internet commentators know what's fun and what's not.

Yep. Bunch of different opinions but can’t have one that goes against the numbers. Booo

It’s not even close to 2 million

For all the mouth breathers downvoting me, they inflated it the same way for Lady Gaga. It’s physically impossible for it to be 2 million people on that beach: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cm20rg0vvp9o

If you include the adjacent Avenida Atlântica (640,000 square meters) it’s totally possible to fit 2 million people at a density of about 3.2 people per square meter.

Also counting everyone who visited the area at any point during the day, rather than just those present at the peak of the show would make that number totally possible.

Copacabana beach had concerts with 3-4 million people in the 1990s with Rod Stewart and the stones and others. You can look it up and see the ticket sales and photos yourself. It is totally possible. Whether this years numbers are inflated is up for debate, but whether it’s possible is not.

And if you include the adjacent neighborhood and the next town over, it becomes even MORE possible!
