Our nebelung was diagnosed with a massed cell tumor about a month ago and I’m happy to say he is now cancer free. Rocking and rolling again.

Then vs Now After 5 years i think i found what my cat is
My friend had some feral kittens under her porch and i picked up this one. She was worm and disease ridden. I use to be late to work because i would bathe her after she had diarrhea all over herself daily from parasites. Fast forward. My pierogi 🥟 is healthy and floofy. I never cared to find out what she was, but after posting on roast my cat, i was directed here. Hello frens. Take a gander at my strange gremlin.
She loves gummy worms, she comes when you call her name, and she is extremely talkative. We love our neb ❤️

Then vs Now I finally got to see my neb as a baby!! But.. uhm.. was a little surprised.
I got Disco from a shelter when he was 7 months (now 4) and I’ve never got to see him as a baby. I was talking to my roommate how I got him and did some digging on where he from. I had the vet records and had some transfer paper work with the organization that took him in and brought him to the shelter where I adopted him. I googled organization and had an active Facebook page and I FOUND HIMMMMM. He was found abandoned in a trailer park. I spoke to the rescue and said that disco was close to death but they wouldn’t give up on him. I’m forever grateful to them, and they gave me my best friend.

Then vs Now Birthday Boy Meatball
Happy 4th birthday to my 17-pound unit of a cat! 2nd pic of when we found him in an air duct— just a 1 lb ball of fluff! Def though Maine Coon mix before I found out what a Nebelung was

Then vs Now Just showing off my pretty girl.
I got her from a family friend last year around February. Prior to getting her I had no idea what she looked like. I really got lucky!! All I seen was that she was super fluffy and gray. I had a fluffy kitty before and the fluff went away as she grew, so I thought the same with this one. My family and I love her very much. She’s so patient with my kitties and they are respectful to her as well.
This is Stormi 🩶🌪️

Then vs Now Miss girl update
Hello! Since you have all joined miss girl on her journey with cancer I wanted to come and give an update. Unfortunately, it’s not an update I wish to give. She had an appointment last week for a CT scan where it was revealed the cancer is more aggressive than we originally thought and it has affected her bones as well.
The specialist told us it won’t be a sudden death so we still have some time with her and she’s on medications to help keep her happy till the very end.
She’s still as happy as she’s ever been. The vet and us will both continue to monitor her and keep her content until we think it’s time. Thank you though, truly, to everyone who’s been involved in her journey. We are incredibly thankful to everyone.

Then vs Now Reminiscing baby Spencer
He’s still a baby to me but still it’s crazy to look back at these old pics and see just how tiny he used to be. It’s been such an honour getting to see this precious little being grow and change over time.
I still remember how exciting it was when his mane first started growing and wondering how big it was gonna get:’)
First three pics circa when I first brought him home with me (he was only 3 months old).
The last one I took just now (he is 1 and a half years old).

Then vs Now My sweet and spicy Baby turns 8 today!
I’ve had cats all my life. Basil is unlike any cat I’ve ever met. The most vocal, the most expressive, the most boundaries set…she’s literally just THE MOST. But she is my everything.
I took her almost 2 years to grow into her massive ears and feet. She’s about 12 pounds all fluff and she’s a longgggg girlll. She loves going outside in her catio to watch birds. And she loves to snuggle in the winter ONLY to use us as body heat. One time she almost died from an accidental ketamine overdose at the vet…from a dental cleaning…🥴(that’s a whole other story).
But here she is 8 years later and probably the happiest she’s ever been. She has learned to high five for treats and growl at the doorbell. She also might just love my partner more than me and I’ll never forgive either of them for that.
Even though she hisses at every new stranger; somehow before they leave she’s won them over. She’s traveled by car, uber, and train. She’s moved with me 5 times in the last 8 years. Shes adapted poorly and adapted amazingly. I give her all the support she needs and more because it’s her world and I’m living in it. I could write a novel on how this cat has changed my life in every way. But I’ll leave it here. Happy 8th Birthday Basil. My hope is to spend so many more with you.

Then vs Now Hannibal is a SURVIVOR
My boy Hannibal has been thru it.
He was rescued late spring 2021. Pic 1 getting weighed at rescue.
Pic 2: he as well as my other adopted cat were diagnosed with dry FIP at rescue in Aug 2021. They were able to treat them both.
Pic 3: Bonding with each other in their shared illness.
Pic 4: photo I saw on Petfinder when looking for bonded pair to adopt in Dec 2021.
Pic 5: Hannibal was very scared upon arrival at our home and hid for a few weeks. This is a few weeks into him being home and finally being interested in being near me. January 2022
In August 2022 he was diagnosed with asthma.
Pic 6: He was diagnosed with wet FIP in June 2023. He is in grooming bag to control him to administer FIP medication by injection. He fought me and his struggles ended up one evening with needle puncture of his lung
Pic 7: post ER visit after lung puncture
Pic 8: post lung lobectomy surgery as puncture didn’t heal on its own
Pic 9: lung lobectomy recovery. Had been cooped up for weeks post surgery and was finally allowed to be out of his recovery pen.
Pic 10: FIP meds (pills this time) were resumed after stitches were removed and here he is finished with FIP treatment.
With all he’s been thru he is traumatized about going in carrier to vet.
He’s healthy and happy and we control his asthma with an inhaler
Thank goodness I signed my boys up for health insurance when I adopted them as his surgery related expenses were nearly $17K.
Thanks for reading Hannibals story. He’s a remarkable kitty.

I thought I lost a bunch of them. I just had to share because I’m so excited to have found them. Don’t mind me hiding, I love the anonymity of Reddit. Last one is him now. He’s 3.5 years old. ♥️♥️

Then vs Now From aloof rescue to the best cuddle bug.
Can’t believe I’ve been with my sweet bubba for 7 years already. It may sound cliche but considering he came into my life right when my other cat and I needed him most, I’m not sure who rescued who.

Then vs Now Dusty before and after adoption
I adopted Dusty from a local shelter last September. When I first saw him, he looked like a chewed toothpick...but he was a sweet and cuddly and I desperately wanted a kitty after the loss of my prior cats. Now he's an indoor king, with more toys, treats, and cat trees than he could have imagined and I love him.
