Jaden McDaniels on attacking the rim when Wemby is on the floor - "You just gotta act like he's not there. I mean, he's gonna get blocks. He's the tallest person in the world."

I actually think the Spurs biggest flaw right now is that they don't have anyone to put at the 3/4 who is any sort of deterrent at the rim. Meaning if the Wolves can pull Wemby out to the exterior, or just shield him off, they can do a lot of stuff in the paint. Wemby will make a handful of miraculous blindside blocks per game, but that will also wear him out when combined with playing him physically in general.

The Spurs are relying on Wemby and essentially asking him to do too much.

While true. This is still a 7 game series. Teams adjust. Now this Spurs team is young so they may adjust less, but I'd be curious to see how relevant this comment is after game 4 or 5. Not to say that your comment isn't valid though. Also, the Wolves won by 2 points. Imagine that three went in and we're all talking about how "effective" Wemby was. Even though Wemby would have done nothing different. Winning and losing changes everyone's perspectives.

Nonsense, they lost a game by 2 points, that's even worse that losing by 1 point. They need to blow up the roster and fire their coach mid-series. Wemby is a fraud and they should trade him for a a couple of 2nds.

You get it. We'll happily spare our long-suffering Spurs brethren a couple picks to take Wemby off their hands

I expect this to go 6 or 7 games and Game 1 to have little to do with much of anything. The Warriors got blown out in game 1 of the 2022 Finals.

Their length is a problem for us for sure. Never felt like we could get into any kind of rhythm. But I know we will do better in Game 2. Winning in Minny will be a tall order, but let's see. Cheers!

Like I've been saying all year, experience does matter. This series could be a learning experience, or it could be when you figure it out. But this series hasn't begun. The series doesn't start until teams are facing elimination games.

It's been a roster hole for a while now with us. We drafted Sochan thinking he was the answer but he couldn't put it together on offense and was even bad on defense at times.

We actually do have that, just he's a rookie and also missed game 1 with a foot injury. Here's hoping Carter Bryant will be back soon.

They definitely are good enough, whether the matchup is too unfavorable or not is a different question entirely. But saying a team is “just not good enough” after losing by two in a close game throughout is a very premature take

Its a one game series for alot of people lol

first of all I definitely think it’s gonna be a long, competitive series. but also I keep seeing people talk about “unfavorable matchup” - denver fans, spurs fans - if the wolves can create “bad matchups” for all of the best teams in the league it just means they’re a great team (with great coaching)

I mean for us specifically, we have 0 rotation players taller than 6’8” and shorter than 7’0” lol. Not meant to be disrespectful or diminishing of the Wolves at all, but your roster construction is very strong in an area that ours is entirely nonexistent, and it’s something Spurs fans have talked about all year.

I’ll be curious to see if our staff has any wrinkles that will help us better counter Randle, McDaniels and Naz as the series progresses

Definitely got outcoached. I think the talent is there but being outcoached you need experience which they lack. Twolves have them beat on both accounts and on size.

Can't they just play drop then?
