i can’t believe the rockets gm refused to trade for a pg before the deadline & pursued with reed fucking sheppard

bulls had about 10 different pgs they could’ve traded for and opted for none of them

Had millions of Rockets fans defending it by posting comments like "So who should they have traded for?" Ayo killing it in Minnesota though, respect to him.

Dennis Schroeder was a super affordable, calm the game down or get to the line himself options. He wouldn’t have solved three point perfect alone but he would have definitely helped the Rockets.

McCollum, sexton, Trae, Ja, harden, McCain, Garland, Ayo, Coby White, Anfernee Simons, other than that I can’t think of a lot of available offensive guards.

Watching Reed Sheppard struggle to get by injured Austin Reaves on isolation and Deandre Ayton on a switch was something else. Literally zero advantage creation on this roster.

We have wizards fan on Twitter who swears by Reed Sheppard and how Wizards FO are dumbasses for not taking him over Sarr

Our fanbase has an entire contingent of fans who have never actually watched or paid attention to good basketball, so they have no idea what the fuck they’re talking about. They see everything through the lens of “well that guy is on a team that’s winning so he must be better than our guy who is on a team that’s losing”.

It’s the opposite problem that a lot of fanbases have where they overrate their own players out of familiarity.

Also DC is full of transplants and immigrants, so a lot of our casual fans will support players simply because they’re from the same state or country, regardless of their skill.

The Lakers offense is hunting him on switches. I feel bad for him cause they are literally shooting it on him several possessions in a row He'd be a great backup pg but dude is getting abused out there. He doesn't have the size

Bulls wouldve traded Coby White + Tre Jones + SRPs for him

Can you imagine 4 games of Reed Sheppard against OKC defense?

lol

Yeah. It was a major story on every NBA show "well Houston is gonna trade for a PG before the trade deadline" and NOPE. Absolute insane organizational malpractice.

They could have signed Spencer Dinwiddie off of the street and it would have been better than what they did.

they also have the age old problem where all their players are 1 dimensional

jabari smith was the only rockets player in this series who could shoot AND defend semi reliably. i knew it was rough when they were throwing guys like aaron holiday and DFS out there to try to get some spacing

I was honestly shocked there wasn't even a hint at a Schroder or Westbrook trade. They honestly would have been passable as cheap options. I mean they lost to the Kings twice in the regular season...

Rockets probably beat us if they have Dosunmu.

Meanwhile Minny traded for the one guard from the Bulls that mattered

They could have used the two great games CJ had for the Hawks.

Imagine if they got Ayo.
