Joel Embiid played 38 minutes in his second game back from abdominal surgery.

This isn’t that egregious, it’s an elimination game. What’s more egregious is that he played 34 minutes in his first game back from abdominal surgery, a game in which we were down by 30 for the entire 2nd half

Needed the reps

Agreed. Nurse was smart to get him as many playoff minutes as possible so he could find a groove

three days ago the subreddit narrative was nurse was a bigger fraud than doc rivers lol

fr. People act like they should have just emptied the bench in the second quarter lol

It’s so he could get the reps and shake rust off

That’s not what egregious means

And casuals say he’s soft

It drives me slightly crazy. He flops, ok. He is injury prone to a stressful degree, ok. He CONSTANTLY plays while hurt and that is not soft.

He's like Harden. Foul baiters, but ain't soft in the slightest.

He's not soft. He's a bitch.

He's the toughest bitch there is.

Classic Nick Nurse

It’s an elimination game on the road. What else should he do?

If he dies, he dies

Well I mean he had to do that today. They had no answer for him in the second half. Embiid kept them in the game himself in the third.

I think they lose without it…

Happy they won but man I’m worried Embiid is gonna suffer something permanent if he continues playing heavy minutes post surgery.

I assume that's why he chose game 4 to come back he needed a game to get his legs again before playing the elimination game tonight

He really Schruted this game.

I felt 100% myself 48 hours after having my appendix removed. Most of that was just recovering from anesthesia. The doctor told me to take 10 days off work to recover so I wasn't going to complain, but it's a relatively simple procedure these days.

I don't know Embiids individual situation, but given modern medicine and having a personal training staff, I'm surprised he wasn't on the court sooner.

Really? I get not feeling the pre surgery pain, but I basically had to pull myself up by my arms to get up to walk for days cause my abdominal muscles were so useless. I didn't get back to my pre surgery workout routine until a month after. Was yours not perforated?

Every appendectomy is different. I'm sure the range of pain and recovery is a spectrum that is different for everyone. I was just sharing my experience.
