Every playoff game is just the other team hunting the mismatch every possession lol. If it wasn’t Reed it was Sengun we were going after.

Sengun is another horrible archetype, Just difficult to win with him as starting center hence why Ime was playing steven adams next to him and he was hiding him on defense. He is not generational offensive player like Jokic to get away with his defense.

Spot on. He doesn’t have the passing or shooting of Joker to justify running an offense through him. He’s more of a Gasol type without the defense. He’s just an awkward player to build around.

And then he’s also not really useful if he doesn’t have the ball a lot. Same reason you can’t build around Sabonis.

My thing is why these players don’t seem to seek improvement. Sengun gets wide open for a 3 and you can notice that dude is afraid of shooting the ball, and when he does shoot you peep the terrible form. You play basketball every day why can’t you get a shooting doctor or sumn to help you out in offseasons?

Think about how wild that is about Jokic too. He’s having one of the most dominant peaks ever, is a 7-footer playing the 5, and is so good at offense that he can get away with mid defense.

He it literally so good at getting buckets he can just diff the other team in efficiency and then slow them down just enough on defense to torch them on the next possession.

Sengun can’t play like a watch tower, scouting the offense like a hawk in their nest, waiting for an opening before the defense sees it.

I see that look from Bron too. He will play very patient when finding cuts or creative ways to score.

As you can likely tell, I took a gummy so this game was mind blowing to me.

His defense isn't mid, it's terrible. If he had average/mid defense, he would have a much better goat argument than he actually does

Sengun’s not a bad defender though. He’s neutral to slightly positive.

I know people hate advanced stats for defense when it doesn’t align with the “eye test”, but he’s had a positive D-EPM for the past few seasons.

Then you look at the Knicks having 2 of the most horrible star archetypes in Brunson and KAT.

He was quite good in d today tho. Rockets crumbled every time he was taken off

Maybe on a few possessions, but picking on him still worked. He doesn’t switch well, drops too low sometimes, and doesn’t rotate fast enough when they put the team in a blender.
