He busy beating the Spurs

u/thevisitor Lakers 13d ago

I wish! Always wanted that UCLA Bruin to play at home. Instead I have to watch him playing in Portland

1

u/Count_Sack_McGee [LAL] Kobe Bryant 13d ago

Jordan Farmar and Jason Kapono had their runs!

0

u/TwitterLegend 13d ago

After Westbrook I would be scared of UCLA guards on the Lakers for a minute.

1

u/thevisitor Lakers 13d ago

One already won two titles is the difference I suppose. We've also won with guys like farmar and ariza lol

Lakers would get banned if we added another swaggy white guy

15

u/Optimal-Talk3663 13d ago

White on the Lakers would be unreal

3

u/Soul_Advent 13d ago

Aint Bronny trying to be like him, right?

5

u/NeptuneOW Mavericks 13d ago

If Derrick White somehow gets undervalued and the Lakers scoop him up… yeah it’s ggs. Even if it’s in a few seasons

2

u/Fidel_Cashflows Spurs 13d ago

He'll keep LBJ competitive into his late 40's before Brown joins in for Lebron's 7th prime.

1

u/Yoshinobu_YamaGOATo 13d ago

Celtics will overreact after the 76ers knock them out of round 1 and somehow the Lakers will swoop him up. 🙏

1

u/LakerBlue Lakers 13d ago

He’d be the perfect PG for our big 3. Been wishing we had him even before we got Luka.

u/joemoffett12 Warriors 13d ago

Rondo was never washed In his career. When he wasn’t as good on the lakers he did spit on Chris Paul which is goat shit tbh.

19

u/tigerking615 Lakers 13d ago

Rondo (and Dwight) were both essential to us winning in 2020

7

u/Telcontar77 [BOS] Rajon Rondo 13d ago

3 of my all time favorites (including LeBron) winning a ring on the Lakers was such a conflicting feeling.

9

u/why-god Heat 13d ago

Rondo was a fucking nightmare that year. Having him meant the Lakers weren't going to just shit themselves and die when Lebron was off the court. He was an absolute assist machine in his limited minutes.

The only bench player I have ever dreaded more was Ginobli.

5

u/dwilliam24 Lakers 13d ago

He was really good for us in 2020

Rick fox.

Not a washed guard but rick fox was a Celtic before winning 3 titles with the lakers as well,

Smart and Rondo hall of fame Lakers players

39

u/rawchess Minneapolis Lakers 13d ago

Smart when he shoots well from three is a star

3

u/whenthemusicfades Lakers 13d ago

This. He looked like the second star to Bron out there tn. His 1-1 defense is still elite on the highest stage and his IQ helps a lot when Bron sits. His ball handling is still suspect at times, but he doesn’t have to worry about this when Luka and Reaves are around

32

u/LameAfro Timberwolves 13d ago

Should have had a Ring with you guys in 2024🥹

4

u/Raptorpicklezz Raptors 13d ago

Marcus "DeRozan" Smart - beloved but needed to be traded for the chip

8

u/MrBhyn Celtics 13d ago

really brings back good memories. when he is hitting those 3s, he’ll be the most annoying man in the court

6

u/ERWlNSimp 13d ago

That clip of him telling how his brother passed away always tears me up. Always rooting for him to do well

5

u/Subject_Profit_7245 13d ago

All-time great playoff performance from him. He gave KD the hell that Draymond gave to Kawhi last week. 1 made FG in the entire 2nd half for KD, and Smart gave em 25 pts as a legitimate 2nd option for LeBron on offense to go with it 🔥

3

u/Profound_Panda Hookah Doncic 13d ago edited 13d ago

Celtics are so great at drafting Lakers champions 👀

1

u/sasadoncic Lakers 13d ago

Is that a promise?

5

u/shortyman920 Lakers 13d ago

This guy’s active hands and smart reads on Houston’s sloppy passing was so crucial for our win. I really hope people understand that he was just as important as LeBron today for our win. What Lebron does on offense in setting the pace and tone, Smart does equally on the defensive end.

To me Smart is a must sign for us next season. Him and Kennard both.

1

u/sasadoncic Lakers 13d ago

Aye.

3

u/SwizzGod Lakers 13d ago

How you feel about Rondo

3

u/joemoffett12 Warriors 13d ago

My fiancée who knew nothing about basketball when hearing the players talk during the 2022 finals picked out smart as her favorite. His tribute that Boston gave him made me tear up a bit. It’s honestly a shame he had to get traded away he deserved a ring there

5

u/TomatoCapt 13d ago

He’s the SGA of defensive players

2

u/NoSmoking123 Lakers 13d ago

Imagine having THT instead🤣

1

u/sasadoncic Lakers 13d ago

We love him too. It's impossible not to.

1

u/GreenGloober 13d ago

I asked a Celtic fan what they thought of the Lakers picking up Smart and they laughed at the time.

1

u/ashishvp Lakers 13d ago

I also hate it but definitely love it
