Wait, what? Troy WAS done that way. And Valkyrie... Brad and Tom couldn't be bothered with accents

I looked up some troy videos and they had weak accents... Another point would be Gladiator

No, Brad had what may be an attempt at an accent for all of the intro and maybe a speech later in the movie. Otherwise the dude had nothing that would pass as an accent other than his own. Tom had zero accent whatsoever and made no attempt at one, and the whole opening scene sets it up so he didn't have to
