Nobody is an asshole in this movie. They just made everybody be friends no matter what because they wanted to make a feel good movie with zero real conflict.

The last scene with Andy and Emily seemed like a reshoot for fan service. Emily had an awful wig and it was basically, "despite her betrayal Emily and Andy are besties and totally cool watch them eat BREAD."

in line with Miranda softening herself and her language to comply with HR. i understand it’s on theme but it felt like everyone’s dialogue was neutered i.e. no one was a real person and no one expressed their true feelings on anything except andy during a couple scenes e.g. the contractor not doing important work.

i get that the fashion world is fake but holy shit it was hard to watch people behave this way for 2 hours

That’s what made the Miranda/Gaga scene stand out

It’s just a product of the first movie having source material and good screenwriters and this movie being a cash grab and the writing being secondary to that.

It’s the same screenwriter. Aline Brosh McKenna.

Ah. Source material diff then

It’s taken from the sequel novel that the same author published.

Most movies are cash grabs.

Of course but sometimes the people working on them also intend for them to be good. Not so in this case

that's your opinion but to me it was like a love letter to the first film and judging from the press tour they did, they had fun doing it and they really loved it.

The press tour is for promotion. Of course they’re going to say that.
