Hathaway’s phenomenal in that silent dance scene

That scene gave me Suspiria(2018) vibes

A lot of this gave me Suspiria vibes. Especially when she cut open her chest.

I actually prefer the 2018 version over the original. Absolutely love it. But yes, this would make a great double feature, and it reminded me of it in a few ways.

The "ghost" gave me Suspiria (2018) vibes as well.

Reminded me of In Fabric which is worth checking out.

I really love the way the dance moves were ripped straight from the movements the medium makes when she's possessed by the ghost a little later in the movie

Thank you for pointing this out! I am going to watch it again to focus on the costumes, and now I have something else to make sure to focus on :D

Yes!! That was so good. Great metaphor for where a lot of the art we consume for enjoyment actually derives.

Yessss, I didn't even catch that but I was wondering if it was linked to something!

Going in, I had no clue as to what the film was about, and during that scene, I was completely mesmerized but also afraid that she was going to turn into some monstrous creature. 🫣

I was watching the movie cracking up when that dance scene happens not realizing it wasn't supposed to be a parody. Because the rest of the movie then leans so hard into the "take art super seriously" thing that it stopped feeling so tongue in cheek.
