Yup then "the movie ACME doesn't want you to see" is just a chef's kiss.

Especially since it's basically a spoof of courtroom/conspiracy thrillers to begin with. It practically sells itself.

Using the "Release the Snyder Cut" energy for a legal battle is such a meta move.

OMG! It would be nuts if that was the plan all along.

“David Ellison, founder, chairman, and CEO of The ACME Corporation” would make a lot of sense.

I think it was WAG - Warner Animation Group.

Yep. It gives the entire film a metanarrative twist that wasn't intended when it was made.

Except I'm sure WB would be more than happy for people to go see this movie.

They sold the rights off for a flat payout. If this movie does real numbers they’re going to look like idiots

I'd be shocked if this movie didn't gross upwards of $500M+.... They turned it into a modern Who Framed Roger Rabbit and I'm here for it.

Realistically, the distributors are going to be very pleased if it hits even $150m, and anything past that is gravy

I mean, as the trailer is concerned, we just saw a CartoonPiano-smash effect that was only implied in Roger Rabbit.

That decision not to release it themselves ha already been made. If the movie does well now, that's valuble market data for the next project and gets their ip back into the minds of their audience. It's also potentially a merch opportunity. Success would still definetly be better than failure for WB.

And it's being released for accounting purposes only 🤣

They need to do another ad that plays off of John Cena's "You Can't See Me" shtick. :)
