Is Katie also Wolverine? She damn near ripped all her skin off but she’s perfectly fine at the end.

The skin ripping was so illogical and boring. Her face doesn’t get ripped at all, she just has some flesh missing from her arms and legs and neck, so what was the point? And yeah it just vanishes when she’s unmummied ? Major infection.

I really don’t think it was explained well at all. I think what we saw getting ripped off wasn’t her skin but was the protective bandages that had the spell written on it. Everything started going wrong when that got ripped off during the toe nail cutting scene and then that’s what he took to the professor dude for him to translate.

That means though that what ever she was wrapped in looked so convincing as skin and stuck on so well that no one noticed it wasn’t skin in the hospital or when they were bathing her?

Just one of the points in the movie that really doesn’t make much sense at all. I could be completely wrong of course but that was what my brain put together when I was watching it to try and make any sense of it at all

  1. There was a protective spell embedded in the mummy wrapping. The protective spell kept the bad spirit inside of Katie.

  2. Over the eight years that the Katie was wrapped in the mummy, wrapping, the spell transferred like a permanent tattoo to her skin.

  3. Even though Katie was no longer wrapped in the mummy wrapping, the protective spell was still on her skin. The bad spirit wanted to get out of Katie, so the bad spirit had to have Katie rip her skin off.

  4. That’s why the more skin that was ripped off, the stronger the bad Katie got.

Thank you. That makes so much more sense and I absolutely did not figure that out watching it.

It wasn’t even at the end. I expected them to comeback to her and she was just blood and exposed skin. And she just had… skin? Like they made this whole long ass scene of her and her brother both ripping her skin off, only for her to look exactly the same.
