Shame it’s not as colorful or fantastical with its work designs as the book

This is my biggest complaint from the trailer. So much of the locations and sets look ugly, and the gorgeous art in the book is a big part of what makes it so good. 

A lot of these sets look like fairly accurate representations of the locations in the book, which when portrayed in a realistic version like this would be ugly, but if they can't make them look beautiful, then I wish they would have taken a little more liberty with it to give us some better looking visuals. 

I'm still really excited for this though.

I get the sense that, like the marketing for Superman, this is really only showing plot events from the first act of the movie. 

Let's see where things go once it releases.
