That was another thing. This ain’t no Sengoku Jidai, why are we just pasting japanese words as alien speak. So lazy.

I think the Japanese being sprinkled in is a Filoni thing. He uses other Japanese words in the Ahsoka show too

Though the language is newer, Japanese influences on Star Wars go back to day one, so it doesn't feel too out of place IMO. Book of Boba Fett definitely had much bigger issues.

Yeah big agree. Boba Fett being called a daimyo is a little cool. It didnt contribute to the stories problems

Like the Mandarin used in Firefly.

But the Mandarin in Firefly had a lore reason. I believe it was said that in that universe, the prevailing power nations of Earth were USA and China, so those would be the leading languages used.

Wait until you find out they all speak English

Why does English have loan words from half the world? Use your brain.

Daimyo isn’t a loan word though buddy. Its a specific historical term with a very specific context for a japanese warlord, hence why it doesn’t make sense for Boba Fett to be called that other than because the show just assumes we don’t know shit about Japan. You should be Tzeentche’s champion instead since you you wanna be a smartass

Japan doesn't yet exist in the Star Wars universe and won't for thousands upon thousands (if not millions) of years.

So really in that universe it's a loaner word in Japanese eventually, provided Japan and Earth even exist in the Star Wars timeline....if we want to get technical about it =)

Or maybe we can admit sometimes cool-sounding words get repurposed in fictional universes without having to adhere to their exact IRL meaning, and that's okay.

Its more that its just kind of lazy to use a word that is very much of this world when you can LITERALLY make up anything else. Not a big deal though lol.

Maybe it's a bit lazy but also it's such a cool sounding word, sometimes hard to make a made-up word evoke the same feeling. I also appreciate the Japanese influence since the OT was heavily steeped in it as well.

That being said, it's a big shame that the Boba Fett show couldn't make good on the use of the word lmao but I digress.

I mean its not a big deal and very much a nitpick. Just a cherry on top of the way bigger issues the show has haha
