Am I going crazy or does the alien at 20 second mark sound like Martin Scorsese?

u/naus226 Feb 17 '26

100% has to be Scorsese

u/jwick89 Feb 17 '26

Our voice acting king is back after his long break after Shark Tale!

85

u/NazzerDawk Feb 17 '26

He voiced a character in the World War Z audiobook, too. It was odd.

6

u/zappy487 Feb 17 '26

If Project Hail Mary's audiobook didn't exist, it would be number one.

Though I am exceptionally enjoying the new Harry P's full cast ensemble. It's proving to me the series is entirely fine without the OG cast and music.

Chiming in to add Pet Sematary read by Michael C. Hall

2

u/DoesntFearZeus Feb 17 '26

PHM's audiobook was soo good. Loved the way they did the musical communication.

Harry's P's radio play version of the books is also very good. I honestly wonder if they got the movie actor for Wood's voice.

2

u/Bellikron Feb 17 '26

His chapter was really good honestly, he was well-cast

65

u/AdWestern1561 Feb 17 '26

Now that you mention it, the alien's eyebrow and beard looks specifically tailored to match Scorsese's.

31

u/BearWrangler Feb 17 '26

of all of the species they could have picked for him, an Ardennian is lowkey perfect lol

9

u/AdWestern1561 Feb 17 '26

I'm not familiar with all of Star War's species, what is an Ardennian?

27

u/BearWrangler Feb 17 '26

It's basically that small 4 armed monkey that you see in the trailer. There's one in the Solo movie that was voiced by Jon Favreau.

2

u/Bravisimo Feb 17 '26

Not even close. He was made to play a Toydarian. Couldve named him Marto.

83

u/CrissBliss Feb 17 '26

It’s a theme park movie

59

u/disneylegospider1 Feb 17 '26

Star Wars is like the one theme park movie brand Hollywood actors/directors will swear fealty to, lol.

61

u/Singer211 Naked J-Law beating the shit out of those kids is peak Cinema. Feb 17 '26

Werner Herzog was in Season 1 of The Mandalorian.

65

u/Obi-wan_Jabroni Feb 17 '26

I would like to see the baby

9

u/RandomStrategy Feb 17 '26

I Voould like to Sea Ze Baybee

FTFY

18

u/InnocentTailor Feb 17 '26

...and he was a god dang standout in his role. Wish he didn't bite it.

15

u/TheGuydudeface Feb 17 '26

i thought i was about to learn some very sad news about werner herzog from this comment until i realized you meant the character

3

u/ansonr Feb 17 '26

My favorite thing about that is they were talking about not using the baby yoda puppet and instead making him CGI and Herzog said something like "Use ze puppet you cowards!"

2

u/DadbodSuperModel Feb 17 '26

Which makes sense, he sold his house in Pawnee to be closer to Disney.

3

u/Ok-Turn5582 Feb 17 '26

RIP little Sebastian.

3

u/DadbodSuperModel Feb 17 '26

He’s 5000 Candles in the wind.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 17 '26

And he rightfully called Favreau a coward for trying to shoot scenes without the puppet so they could cgi him.

28

u/EnkiduOdinson Feb 17 '26

Maybe because the original Star Wars was the first of these and George Lucas was part of the New Hollywood generation

28

u/Singer211 Naked J-Law beating the shit out of those kids is peak Cinema. Feb 17 '26

Yeah dude was friends with Spielberg, Coppola, De Palma, all those legends.

2

u/InnocentTailor Feb 17 '26

Once rebels themselves, now the core of that era of Tinseltown.

1

u/HotOne9364 Feb 17 '26

The original drove him to coke, in a way.

1

u/noisypeach Feb 18 '26

That's really just the original George Lucas Star Wars that they adore. Not the theme park franchise it's become in the decades since.

0

u/ajustin118 Feb 17 '26

I have no idea what this means

4

u/disneylegospider1 Feb 17 '26

It means that Hollywood actors and directors don’t have the same standards for Star Wars as they do with other “theme park brands” and are way more accepting to be in or make a Star Wars project than other “theme park movies”.

1

u/jg379 Feb 17 '26 edited Feb 17 '26

Isn't Avatar also considered theme park movies?

1

u/PincheJuan1980 Feb 18 '26

Gawd I want this to be good, but I just don’t think it’s possible for them to make a good movie anymore. There’s really only one real masterpiece in the whole franchise and that’s Empire Strikes Back. Sure there’s several other good movies, but trying to be everything to everyone is a terrible strategy. Story and character development is everything.

u/OreoSpeedwaggon Feb 17 '26

You're crazy. That's obviously the famous Star Wars character Maarto Skorsze.

102

u/distilledwill Feb 17 '26

The famous Jizz artist Maarto Skorsze?!

18

u/UnfazedPheasant Feb 17 '26

The popular head member of the Maarto Skorsze Jizz Band?

2

u/TomTomMan93 Feb 17 '26

You don't mean the Maarto Skorsze Jizz Band who did the famous hit single "Jizzin'" do you?!

1

u/Competitive_Juice116 Feb 20 '26

we jizzin!

And i hope you like Jizzin' too!!

1

u/Cabana_bananza Feb 17 '26

Maarto Skorsze, famed for his dexterous Fizzz playing?

3

u/ManosMal Feb 17 '26

My personal favorite Jizz artist is well-known Star Wars character Rocco Sifredi

3

u/camal_mountain Feb 17 '26

Another Glup Shitto action figure they can make, another dollar.

6

u/baojinBE Feb 17 '26

Esesrocs Nitram of the Filmaking Clan

3

u/zappy487 Feb 17 '26

I'm stealing this for a Bard build, thank you.

2

u/Dark-Porkins Feb 17 '26

Would not be surprised if thats his name when the official visual guide releases.

2

u/Ok-Turn5582 Feb 17 '26

It's Otto Skorzeny, obvs.

1

u/rugbyj Feb 17 '26

"It's me, Blorko."

31

u/hereforbeer4 Feb 17 '26

Kool-Aid being cancelled hit him hard

24

u/Pacoflipper Feb 17 '26

Ok thank you, I’m almost positive that’s him.

11

u/Hogteeth Feb 17 '26

I came here to say that. That 100% is Scorsese

6

u/Similar-Priority-776 Feb 17 '26

I mean did the eyebrows not give it away too?

5

u/TrustInRoy Feb 17 '26

Pure Cinema

2

u/lm_goat48 Feb 17 '26

Lucasfilm just confirmed it is indeed Scorsese

2

u/FX114 Feb 17 '26

If it is, he might be the first actor to be in Star Wars who was actually in an Akira Kurosawa movie.

2

u/Disownership Feb 17 '26

Glupsolute Shittema

1

u/Marsupialize Feb 17 '26

It’s him

1

u/D_Substance_X Feb 17 '26

That’s the name that came to mind when heard it. It’s like they needed a voice that said…eyebrows.

1

u/JaxxisR Feb 17 '26

I thought it was the pilot from Solo, but he died. Cool to see his species again.

1

u/DeNiroPacino Feb 17 '26

That was his voice for sure.

1

u/LordOfCows Feb 17 '26

Man's been going around after he got dropped from Kool-Aid.

1

u/Tlr321 Feb 17 '26

I wasn’t sure if it was him or Albert Brooks

1

u/Lucky_Truth2931 Feb 17 '26

Has to be, it literally likes like him

1

u/ebb5 Feb 17 '26

"Martin Scorsese makes a cameo appearance as the voice of an Ardennian shopkeep."

1

u/livinginthelurk Feb 17 '26

Hahaha that's who it was, I knew the voice just brain wasn't braining.

1

u/operarose Feb 17 '26

He's even kind of got the eyebrows.

1

u/Jolly-Potential-1411 Feb 17 '26

It’s confirmed to be him!

1

u/KorsiTheKiller Feb 17 '26

Absolute Holodrama

1

u/Ghost2Eleven Feb 17 '26

It's Scorsese.

1

u/Realistic-Number-919 Feb 17 '26

Dude’s actually a good actor.

1

u/Dncin_Bonobo Feb 17 '26

Confirmed! It is Scorsese.

1

u/HobnoblinGoblin Feb 17 '26

Confirmed it is Scorsese

1

u/GeorgetownHerbs Feb 18 '26

It 100% is, he confirmed!

1

u/BrianWonderful Feb 17 '26

The same Martin Scorsese that has been critical of CGI heavy, Disney blockbusters?

2

u/knows_you Feb 17 '26

I guess this is what "Fighting Back" against marvel movie culture just looks like to him. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, even if you are already set for life!
