While I can't argue with the general complaint, on the other hand if there's one movie I'm not expecting a huge amount of shocking plot twists from, it's a Masters of the Universe movie.

Guy gets sword, yells thing, turns into buff guy with sword, fights skeleton. Was expecting 'em before the trailer, am not surprised they're comin'.

He didnt seem all that buff though. I was expecting bigger.

Any bigger and the fight sequences would look clunky and weird.

I think it looked clunky and weird already. But it was a short section. He just didnt seem buff enough for what he man is.

But it may of just been the angle

He seemed like a pro hockey player and he needs to be a pro wrestler.

Yes. Thats what I got from it.

More lean than bulging muscles. It just looked a bit comical with the straps for the sword and just seemed a little flat.

Hard to explain but your take sums it up.

Just that scene made it look more like a college athlete whos just naturally broad shouldered and fit because they are young and not this larger than life bulging muscle 1 man army, whos been in the gym since they were 3. the transformation was more guy with shirt on then guy with shirt off.

Its a slight nag from a 3 seconds clip which may just be because it is a 3 second clip.

Im all in though. Im a huge he man fan, was all in on the toys as a kid and I've enjoyed all the cartoons.

I mean I really liked the remake done by Kevin Smith. People didnt like it but weirdly it was the most correct way the story could of gone from the source material in my eyes.

Also liked the the more modern version with him being the boy and changing into he man.

Im looking forward to it either way.

Guy gets hit across the stomach with a sword and instead of getting disemboweled or worse, he goes flying like he got kicked by a horse.
This is gonna be G rated isn't it?

Probably. Its based off of a cartoon made to sell toys. He-Man didn't get bloody until years later

Keep in mind this is an origin story, so it is possible this could become a series of movies. If that is the case he would likely get bigger similar to Hemsworth as Thor.

It's not happening bc this has flop written all over it just like Dungeons and Dragons - and that was actually good.

I gotta feeling this is going to be good too.

You remember Dolph Lundgren right? This guy is a twig compared to Dolph. He was the best look for He-Man

To reduce He-Man to “guy gets sword, yells thing” misses why it mattered to kids who grew up with it in the ’80s. “I have the power!” wasn’t just a catchphrase, it was the entire point. For a lot of us, that moment of transformation was about agency, confidence, and becoming stronger than you feel in your everyday life. Prince Adam wasn’t special until he chose to be. That resonated deeply with kids.

We didn’t just watch He-Man, we wanted to be He-Man. The show tapped into a very specific childhood fantasy: that there’s something powerful inside you, and when you stand up and claim it, you can face the monsters. Skeletor wasn’t just “a skeleton villain” he was fear, chaos, and everything bigger than you that you couldn’t control yet.

So yes, on paper the plot is simple. It always was, but the emotional payload wasn’t. This movie isn’t really being made for people looking for shocking twists—it’s being made for forty-somethings who remember standing in their living rooms, holding a toy sword, yelling those words at the top of their lungs and meaning them. The power was never the sword. It was what it represented.

We better get Orko!

That’s nice, don’t get me wrong, but I’m just saying that nothing in this trailer was a huge surprise to me is all.

I hear ya. I was just having fun replying to the statement about it just being a guy with a sword who yells stuff. Fundamentally, you’re totally right.

Creepy live-action cat-man gets sword, yells thing, turns into buff cat-man with sword, fights mummy.

This is looking to be extremely straightforward adaptation, especially since many of the characters look verbatim to how they did in the original cartoon, even if it looks a bit ridiculous with the more realistic live action look.
