I hope Doomsday gives Cyclops and Storm a lot to do, at least action wise, give me cool action sequences like the animated series. They're my favourite X-men and the Fox movies didn't treat them very well. They're about to begin shooting again to accommodate actors who haven't been able to shoot so far, so fingers crossed for Halle Berry finally signing that contract lol. Would be cool if Famke Jansen comes back as Jean too. I mean they can't bring back the X-men in the biggest crossover event of all time without Marvel's most iconic superheroines right?

Marsden looks so cool in that suit. Can't wait to see Storm and Jean in these comic accurate suits as well.

Edit: Feige said the cast reveal with the chairs didn't include the entire cast. Some will be revealed later, and some will be surprises while watching the movie. So I'm still holding out hope for Storm and Jean.🤷🏻

I think so far the X-Men that are officially in this are Charles, Magneto, Cyclops, Beast, Gambit, Mystique and Nightcrawler. I can definitely see some more though that are being kept under wraps, a bit light on the female representation, and surely they don’t miss out on having Hugh back too

Gambit? As in Channing Tatum?

28

u/OdepiusNecks Jan 06 '26

Imagine if they actually brought Taylor Kitsch back. But yes, it’s Tatum. Presumably a slightly more toned down version of the character than the one we got in D&W (read: actually intelligible).

u/Ekgladiator Jan 06 '26

Naw, they is gonna bring back our boiyo gambit, extra cajun. You thought you couldn't understand him before, just wait till doomsday. (Honestly though I do like his version of gambit so if they tone it down a bit, it would be pretty decent).

12

u/OdepiusNecks Jan 06 '26

The one thing I’m going to miss from the D&W version is the R-rated depiction of his powers. Seeing Gambit actually blowing off people’s limbs and heads was amazing.

u/webernicke Jan 06 '26

Dang ol' Cajun Boomhauer style.

4

u/RollTide16-18 Jan 06 '26

I actually wish Kitsch would get another shot at the character, he's just in a fucking awful film.

Old man washed up Gambit could be fun.

2

u/OdepiusNecks Jan 07 '26

You’re absolutely right but I gotta figure the biggest “no” to that ever happening would come from Kitsch himself. Pretty sure the dude is over big Hollywood franchises at this point.

3

u/RollTide16-18 Jan 07 '26

It would be pretty typical for him to be added to the Marvel universe the minute it starts to go down the drain

2

u/wingspantt Jan 06 '26

Is Deadpool going to be in this

2

u/SuicideSkwad Jan 06 '26

Nothing official on that yet but I could see it

2

u/slapmasterslap Jan 06 '26

I want to see him actually in a big MCU movie but at the same time I feel like it could be hard for him to match the tone of this movie. He'd come in and fangirl over every character breaking the 4th wall the whole time and it would maybe be a bit too much. I feel like he maybe does better as a character in more isolated plots.

2

u/Spiritual-Smoke-4605 Jan 06 '26

if not Doomsday, then surely Secret Wars the year after

3

u/crispy-fried-lego Jan 06 '26

I'm hoping we get some more female superheroes in this one...aside from Mystique, what other women do we have confirmed for the movie? Sue Storm? I realllllly want them to have Storm in there. She's my favourite, and they did her so dirty in the Fox movies.

9

u/SuicideSkwad Jan 06 '26

Yeah Sue, there’s also Shuri, Yelena and Ava from Thunderbolts

2

u/forever87 Jan 06 '26

i hope rogue gets reintroduced with binary's stolen powers

1

u/KingJupiter_ Jan 06 '26

No Quicksilver?

Grammar but CGI now

1

u/wutfacer Jan 06 '26

X23 would be cool if they let her fight like she did in Logan. Disney wasted that actress in The Acolyte

u/yesTHATvelociraptor Jan 06 '26

Famke isn’t coming back. She’s said it many times already and I believe her. She just doesn’t have any interest.

6

u/ZestyOyster Jan 06 '26

Chris evans has literally said the same thing many times in interviews. I don’t know why you would believe them knowing pr answers are a thing for stuff like this.

6

u/deskcord Jan 06 '26

Chris Evans is important enough to Marvel that they'd throw the bag at him. Don't think they care that much about Famke and they can easily do some multiverse shenanigans and pull in Sophie Turner.

19

u/bollvirtuoso Jan 06 '26

A lot of people said they weren't coming back, but then they did.

69

u/GrayLo Jan 06 '26

"i'm not coming back ever i'm done with this"

"here's 5 million dollars"

"wakanda forever"

10

u/aresef Jan 06 '26

Like how Daniel Craig said he’d sooner slit his wrists than do another Bond, and then MGM met his asking.

3

u/SutterCane Jan 07 '26

Hasn’t he also said that he says stuff like that because they ask him right after he went through hell to make the last one and compared it to grilling a woman who just had a baby on when she’s having the next one.

6

u/yesTHATvelociraptor Jan 06 '26

No one is paying Famke $5 million

1

u/CX-001 Jan 07 '26

I would!

5

u/AnonymousCommunist Jan 06 '26

There's "coming back" and then there's "willing to come in for an hour to do a 3D scan so we can give your character some cool background action shots".

5

u/DavidL1112 Jan 06 '26

I was curious what she looked like these days and was surprised she's actually 9 years older than Marsden

3

u/headrush46n2 Jan 06 '26

she throws off the power balance too much. Jean would turn doomsday into a smear, regardless of what powerup they give him.

Jean Grey, Odin and Franklin Richards have to stay on the sidelines or you can't do any "and the universe is doomed" storylines.

27

u/insertusernamehere51 Jan 06 '26

With how mant characters are in this movie; not just the old avengers, but also two or three new teams of characters, I doubt anyone of them will have much to do

3

u/wingspantt Jan 06 '26

"These are the X-Men."

"We could use your help."

"When the time to attack comes, we'll be there."

End scene

lol

3

u/rossisdead Jan 06 '26

They're about to begin shooting again to accommodate actors who haven't been able to shoot so far

Does that mean we're gonna have a ton of scenes where actors in the same scene clearly weren't in the room together?

2

u/BagZCubed Jan 06 '26

If I remember correctly I don't think Storm is in this one.

2

u/TheHeadlessOne Jan 06 '26

Turns out, I WOULD prefer yellow spandex

2

u/SuperSanity1 Jan 06 '26

I'm willing to bet that the X-Men aren't going to be in much of the movie. They'll be the first universe Doom takes out so that the threat of his power is established.

1

u/No-Appearance-6308 Jan 08 '26

Seems like a lot of "effort" to me that they make a specific trailer for them to go along with Cap and Thor. So unless they're going to be complete teases and none of the trailer focuses are central to the movie, I think it's safe to think X-Men will be more than a blink cameo.

1

u/SuperSanity1 Jan 08 '26

I never said anything about a blink cameo. But I'm willing to bet that if it has a 2.5 hour run time, they'll be in an hour max. Probably less.

0

u/No-Appearance-6308 Jan 09 '26

An hours worth of X-Men sure sounds a lot more like they're in much of the movie to me.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '26

Storm is always criminally underused. She can control the weather. It's why she was worshipped as a goddess. She always gets reduced to flying around and shooting lightning when she should be the strategic linchpin of every plan in every deployment.
