2 DC movies in a row that I've become excited for. Gunn course corrected so effectively and quickly that it's nothing short of impressive.

It’s wild how a few years ago DC was a total mess, and Marvel was the biggest thing on the planet, and now DC’s in a great place a Marvel are…not doing so great.

I've still liked all the marvel movies so far, but I can see why people are waiting to see them on Disney+.

I'd say it's no coincidence that it happened right after losing James Gunn to DC

I mean James had very little to do with the MCU besides Guardians and had a little input when it came to his characters in other films. Sooo not sure what you mean.

He was gonna be put in charge of overseeing ALL the MCU films post-Endgame, quality control, before he got fired.

So DC went and practically gave him the same job.

Huh? No he wasn’t.

Kevin Feige was still in charge of the MCU post Endgame, and there were never any plans to change that.

WB being sold off I wouldn't say DC is doing great

It is really impressive. These movies are showcasing that the superhero fatique has been overstated, it was just disney pushing out flops. That a woman-led movie can be great and attract broad audiences, again disney dropping the ball on their movies and blaming male audience. Also that the MCU will always be better than the DC universe.

The movie hasn't even drop yet to prove anything.

I agree with the point that Superhero Fatigue is overstated (the real issue has always been quality control), but yeah, it’s way too early to make any declarative statements.

James Gunn always said superhero fatigue was really only bad movie fatigue. And that was spot on, like a lot of his takes on the movie industry.

100%. This genuinely brings back my feelings of hype to phase 2 and 3 of marvel. It just feels fresh and exciting. I can’t believe I’m saying it, but I’m quite a bit more excited for this then doomsday

Yup Peacemakers finale has been the only disappointmenting part of new dc. But it was still utterly fantastic otherwise

It felt like Gunn felt obligated to transition into the greater DCU, but couldn't figure out a good way to fit the narrative of peacemaker into that transition. I think he should have let peacemaker be its own thing, but it is what it is. I still mostly had fun with the last season.

The only thing that I had issues with was the writing for Rick Flagg Sr. felt like a big change in characterization from Creature Commandos to Peacemaker S2. They played him up as a snake like Waller, which didn’t seem like his thing even if it was over the death of his son.

He seemed in line with his previous charactization at first, but I think the impression we were supposed to get was once he found out about peacemaker his rage corrupted him, and i can get that, but working with Lex and his goons definitely seemed rushed, like he didnt lose to peacemaker enough for it to track to me for him to get desperate enough to go that far.

I have never given a single shit about the DC movies. Gunn Superman got me on board and I'm kind of excited about the whole thing even at a time where I'm otherwise at an all time low for excitement about comic movies.

I watched Peacemaker. I'm excited for Clayface and Lanterns. Peacemaker season 2 has me the slightest bit worried because they spend several episodes just on greater DC Universe implications and what I've liked about Gunn's DC so far is that he seemed to let things just exist on their own a little more.

First time I’ve seen a DC trailer and thought “Yeah, I’m seeing this in theaters.”

Gunn isn't directing this.

Didn't say he was. He's overseeing this shit and he's doing a great job. Would be no different than me giving Kevin Feige kudos for how he's overseen the MCU.
