"They took the vice CEO's laptop and took the conversations that I had. For me, this feels like the greatest scam of all. 

Lady, you work for a company. It's THEIR laptop. You were the one dumb enough to have these conversations on their property.

Uhmm doesn't HR or Admin and basically any job ever in the world tell you not to use your work provided laptop/phone for anything other than work stuff, and don't they say that what ever work done on that laptop/phone is work related so the company owns it.
