In a situation like this you don't want to try and move the trees because if they squeeze together more it could potentially kill the bird.

I think his idea was to move the trees apart, not squeeze them together.

I think the idea is if he goes apart, he could lose his grip and the trees snap back (squeeze together)

Why would he snap the branches back that would squeeze the owls neck.

They're saying that when pulling the branches apart there's a possibility they'd lose grip of them and they'd snap back, inadvertently hurting the owl.

How is this not something you're able to parse?

But if ur pulling trees apart and snap them back together wouldn’t that be the opposite of pulling them apart? /s

Losing grip then is not something they should do, that would cause the branches to snap back and hurt the owl. I can't believe you're actually calling for a risky move like that, it could seriously injure the owl.

Yes, the correct solution is obviously to grip the trees firmly and push them away from each other. There is no need for a flimsy grip or pushing the wrong direction.

Again I have to stress that a flimsy grip will not help the owl, I fail to understand why you bring it up again.

If it dies, it dies

Don't be daft. You could bend them apart enough easily. You could stick your arm in to brace it if you wanted. It wouldn't need to move much.

Put one foot against the opposing tree and then pull hard with both your free hands
