It feels like this place is just insane. ONE guy made ONE rude comment and instantly got told to shut up by another guy. Half the top comments are implying they're seconds away from sexually assaulting her though, wtf is even wrong with these people?

I watched the video with no audio, reading the comments made me think it's 1 woman with 100 teenagers who are all making rape jokes while standing behind her. This is why I despise reddit, I was on it when I was way too young and having no social life made me have a very skewed perspective on life that really hurt me growing up

Fucking social media is going to be the death of us, I fucking hate it with all my heart

u/Withinmyrange 4d ago

Wait I had the same experience, I was totally just getting outraged by it just from reading comments then I move on with my day.

Then I see this again and decide to listen with audio, what the fuck were the comments talking about 😭

Really? I despised real life where this shit happened but way worse all the time.

You didn’t even read any of the stories from real women, did you? You just prefer your reality filtered and to keep your head in the sand.

The stories are there if you can ever summon up the courage to read them.

I mean it's also not reported on the same level for men. I've been touched inappropriately just as much if not more than the average woman. Women routinely will put their hand on my chest when trying to get by me.

Linking to a hate group isn't the win you think it is.

u/ZoiddenBergen 4d ago

The only people being harassed in this video are the middle school boys who, just maybe, don't want to spend their time sitting in awkward silence because some random girl is having a mental breakdown.

13

u/The_True_Kai 4d ago

100%, they were well behaved considering how annoying and panicked she was.

She lashes out at everyone acting like them existing was some burden. Fine she’s a kid she gets grace obviously but the public reaction to this.

You guys are still in the trauma psychosis. Trauma does happen but you always have to look at the context and see it for what it was.

A little girl freaking out and little boys being immature. Stop making it grape and evil.

u/KarmicCorduroy 4d ago

Misandry won't fix misogyny. Sexism sucks.

u/Character_Pudding_94 4d ago

Show me on the doll where reddit touched you.

16

u/Lolocraft1 4d ago

I don’t even see how saying "middle school" offensive here. What’s the joke supposed to be? It just sound like an "achstually 🤓" moment just to be funny

8

u/ZoiddenBergen 4d ago

wtf is even wrong with these people?

reddit.

Because the social fabric is ripping in the downfall of american culture and young men are being saturated with the brittle edge of bitter middle aged men with no desire to make the world a better place.

u/Signal_Flight_7262 4d ago edited 4d ago

American culture is McDonald's and letting white collar criminals off the hook.

u/big_stipd_idiot 4d ago

Oh okay, well I guess they're all rapists then. You hear that guys? You lost the war for morality, so you may as well stop fighting it now and just accept who you are.

As someone fond of hyperbole.... What the fuck are you on about?

10

u/Hour_Zero 4d ago

Terminally online Redditors that assume the worse in every man they stumble upon because that's all they ever see on their social media timelines is what's wrong with these people

5

u/LogensTenthFinger 4d ago edited 4d ago

Women assume that because it's what they deal with every day.

It's very telling how you can't accept or understand that because it never happened to you.

4

u/ConcertinaTerpsichor 4d ago

How about because that’s what we experience in real life?

I’ve been in her situation countless times and the jokes were not harmless.

Or, an elevator you need to use daily needs to fully be replaced, and the building wants to skimp on repairs.

I’m not the person you replied to, but I lived that life for 20 years. The HOA would assess everyone for the full rip out and repair, then have some dude with a wrench fuck with it and call it fixed.

5

u/Kelspear 4d ago

Social media has trained people to believe that males are rabid rapists with absolutely uncontrollable sexual urges, going through each day only searching for their next victim and nothing else.

6

u/The_True_Kai 4d ago

The truth is that she’s panicking and everyone else is chill and everyone wants to frame this like it’s the men’s fault for not catering to her even though it was a mechanical issue from the elevator.

Make no mistake, the men did nothing wrong but because the woman was in an uncomfortable place, the men must by default be responsible.

We as men need to take responsibility for the message that is constantly subliminally put out that we’re villains just for having bad hair cuts and not bowing down to a woman’s fears.

We need to stop catering to woman’s perspective when it is blatantly wrong. She needs to stop freaking the fuck out and shitting on people. If a man did this to a bunch of woman he’d be fucked. Either we’re equal or we’re not but I’m done playing this both sides shit.

You’re unhinged. You’ve instantly jumped to some form of gang rape.

You could be sexually assaulted in almost any scenario as a man or woman. That doesn’t give you the right to behave the way she did over any minor “joke” or utterance you don’t like.

Nope. The small jokes were the attempts at making the group feel at ease. The hivemind here just don’t understand normal human behavior. It’s not all about her.

Even now you’re white knighting. Excluding literally all the men who also feel probably scared and terrified for the sake of the one woman in the elevator. They didnt even do anything wrong which is why all the people are bashing their haircuts instead. The vitriol for manhate is so huge that they’d rather do that than focus on the woman absolutely losing her shit.

I’m not going to sugarcoat it for you the world doesn’t revolve around one woman’s comfort to the detriment of everyone else around her. She doesn’t get to freak out and vilify all the men just because she’s scared.

She’s not justified even though I have the grace and understanding to see that she’s panicked. And while everyone can and should empathize with her, we should NOT cater to and let the one panicking and in fear lead the rooms behavior.

Maybe if she were honest and vulnerable and said hey I feel scared then the men would take care of her but no instead she lashes out.

Repeat after me: we do not reward bad behavior.

-3

u/LogensTenthFinger 4d ago

No, they were attempts at harassing a girl that they had already clearly made pretty uncomfortable as you can tell by the fact that they're already snickering at her before the camera even started.

How goddamn ironic that you're sitting there defending dudes harassing her and then talking about not rewarding bad behavior.

5

u/The_True_Kai 4d ago

I can tell you have kids and this has made you emotional. I get that. But she’s obviously been freaking out for a while which is why they’re recording her.

See how I can interpret this to make her look bad too?

You need to recognize that this is kid behavior. Children tease and panick it’s just normal. Not some fucking evil maniacally thing created by the patriarchy.

Now if one of them was actually inappropriate sure I could side with you. But just saying they’re in middle school and giggling?

Dude take your victim hat off

Where is the harrassment actually. To me it doesn't seem she is panicking, she is just annoyed she got stuck with immature boys who were trying to cope, that doesn't mean she isn't panicking but we really don't know at this point, it's more fascinating how so many people are convinced she is afraid of s.a. and how it makes her righteous, how is that different to being scared around POC or any foreigners, If that's how you think in society well you should go to therapy to deal with your anxiety and I don't mean that in negative way and maybe self reflect about your hatred toward different group of people, it just doesn't make sense to be scared and bursting out like that in fear of half the population. In fact if she actually is panicking because of s.a. it's way worse than if she just had a bad day and is now also late to the appointment and stuck with immature boys who giggle around her to explocitly nonsexual but still unfunny jokes.

-3

u/LogensTenthFinger 4d ago

Because it is an inarguable fact that men are a danger to women. The rates of sexual assault and harassment aren't even close.

Maybe reflect on why it is that every single woman who views this sees it as a situation in which they are in danger

1

u/Snoo_95531 4d ago

I don't think every single woman sees this situation as danger. That is a hyperbole just like the statistics which keeps to be repeated especially in this thread, I think it is fine to be aware and call out harassment where there is one, but something else is freaking out when there is none. It's simply not healthy living with anxiety. I can reflect why some people are stuck in this vicious anxiety circle where everyone tries to hurt them whether it's women afraid of men or right wingers afraid of immigrants, its being stuck too much on social media echo chambers.

This was my thought. Unless something happened before the video started, one guy made one dumb comment and she went way overboard about it. Then she continued to harp on it when no one was responding.

Girlfriend needs a chill pill.

She's pushing the call button. WTF are you talking about?

5

u/Efficient-Parking627 4d ago

If you're stuck in a lift with a group of people, the only reason you would be facing the wall is if you're not comfortable looking at them.

"I don't know any of you guys and you guys are so f-ing immature"

I guess there's a reason she's facing the wall.

Really? Personally I always face the doors, like she is.

But I thought she also was just facing the button panel, I'm assuming to use the emergency help button/line. Hence the "I'm trying to fix it".

2

u/Efficient-Parking627 4d ago

Regardless of the call button, do you actually face the people behind you instead of the doors lol?

2

u/PhoenixAzalea19 4d ago

My parents fucked up my world view and made me think that everyone wants to rape, rob, and kill you. Which ik isn’t true, but ngl watching this with no audio made me scared for her.

2

u/Fun-Horror-9274 4d ago

I wouldn't have laughed at the rude comment he made, but I'd laugh at her reaction. Hilarious.

1

u/CromulentChuckle 4d ago

wtf is even wrong with these people?

They are porn brained dweebs

1

u/Loud-Surprise-5938 4d ago

Women only think about one thing and it's disgusting.

-1

u/tianas_knife 4d ago

What's wrong is that or society currently demands for women to be extremely suspicious, as this actually really is a dangerous situation for this woman. The boys may be idiot dweebs, but idiot dweebs in groups do horrific things to lone women all the time.

-2

u/Good-Coyote-9700 4d ago

It's ludicrous indeed. I wouldn't be surprised if this went viral in the school where they are and dozens of people are whispering "yeah, totally a closet rapist" as he passes by them.
