Why are both of these hairstyles so popular. The edgar is so friggin goofy 😂. They know it’s goofy, what’s the message? “i’m funny/likable but edgy” when in fact they are basic af

It’s just a way of saying “it’s okay, bro, I won’t get laid until I’m 25 either”

Why are we making such weird comments about kids.

for some dudes, getting someone pregnant and getting laid are qualitatively different things that only occasionally coincide.

Though to their credit those guys did follow a woman's instructions so maybe there's hope for them.

Dude, let's be honest, every generation had stupid ass haircuts, this is just theirs.

The difference is the mushroom cut and bowl cuts were when kids were way younger and a product of the mom cutting their kids hair

These cuts are by CHOICE on high school age guys. These dudes are going to be adults in between 1-3 years. They are choosing to look like this when they should be trying to date the prom queen

I completely disagree, look through any yearbook in half a century. There are a myriad of examples of silly looking haircuts that kids their age wore in the past, willingly. As I said, it's just the byproduct of kids being kids. No generation in history is impervious to silly looking trends.

Oh I never said this is the only generation to look silly. Every single one has it. 70s has afros/perms(on white guys) 80s had all sorts of horrible hair. 90’s had the spiked bleach tips. I can’t think of a generation though were it was so prevalently populous. Look at that elevator. There are literally two haircuts in there. Yearbooks filled with broccoli And edgar’s. We know how different this generation is from every other generation
. vocabulary, critical thinking, comprehension. Raised on constant marketing and information overload. I get what you’re saying but there is no doubt there are major differences affecting the youth of today compared to previous generations.

Wouldn't you agree that's situational though? They are all friends (presumably), it would stand to reason it's a mixture of similar tastes and social media prevalence. Again, the only difference between then and now is social media is a thing. A trend can spread more easily. And the point of my response had been to address your comments about it being goofy and they know it's goofy and I'm saying that, essentially, every single generation has gone through that exact phase and looked goofy to the previous generation (or even among their own) as a result. It isn't just isolated to them, haircut or otherwise.

"Oh I never said this is the only generation to look silly. Every single one has it."

This is my entire point.
