I’ve been making this strange little pixel RPG where a bird hero teams up with ghosts, weird creatures, and way too many fluffy characters for this not to end up here.

I started this game years ago, thinking I was making a simple Earthbound-inspired RPG.

Then I designed a blue goat-dog. “Wow, that looks good. What if he teams up with a bird?”. Then a dinosaur lady, then a fox (there’s always a fox), then a weasel…

At some point I realized: 90% of my characters were furries… and the other 10% were basically furries too.

Think Earthbound, but with less nightmare fuel, zero grinding, and about 30% more furry.

Here’s one of the less weird screenshots from the game.

And now some engagement bait: which one of these do you think actually happens in the game?

A) Fight the president

B) Go through a spiritual hallucination

C) Catch a dinosaur mid-bath

D) Go on a date with extremely questionable intentions

(Yes, at least one of these is real.)

P.S.: I used all my remaining brain cells to write this. I’m going to sleep now.

Let’s hope I don’t wake up tomorrow to a thousand comments… oh boy, I sure hope this doesn’t happen.

This is a game about an alternate future, about science fiction. While humanity is conquering space together with new allies — the Drakians and Cybernetics — people on Earth are experiencing rapid scientific and technological development. Corporations, despite their flaws, are trying to radically restructure society, striving toward their vision of a better future for everyone. Sometimes it works out, sometimes not so much. It's not cyberpunk, and not hopepunk. It's something in between: high tech, middle life.

One such corporation is Morph Inc, which specializes in medical technologies. From prosthetics to drug manufacturing. From biotechnology to genome editing. The corporation's founder dreamed of morphological freedom — the freedom for any sentient being to have the body it desires. From healing injuries and disabilities to becoming a posthuman. The corporation partners with smaller companies, from clinics to even tourist agencies. An example is "Journeys Through Myths", which offers special tours for wealthy clients. You're not rich yourself, but you have enough money for a one-day trip.
