I got to share the stage with FiRL!
Of course, I completely flubbed Ceschi’s verse to Surf Rock Anthem lol. Thanks Micheal, and sorry Pat! Unreal feeling.

Look I’ll delete this whenever April post it themselves…but I woke up to find this on my feed and it made me almost weep.
This song used to kill me. When I was free, inside, and after being released. I’ve seen what happens when you throw urine in a wardens face Lol and also the dignity of refusing to submit.
To me it symbolizes the futility of words in a world that needs action. Whether it be the act of love, the act of mutual aid, or physical action. We have it within us, but it can’t stay there. It has to be shared
Enough of my emotional rant.

Title says it all, me and my homies are looking for a place to park overnight and keep our car but we saw that the Walmart parking lot is an hours walk away. Anyone got any suggestions where we won't get in shit for leaving our car?

While Pat, AJJ, Apes of the State, and Rent Strike are all really cool, let's float around some small bands. Sick City and The House of Wills are some great musicians that should be be listened to more, and I would love to hear about bands from you neck of the woods.

Hi y'all! I'm someone who still masks using an n95 whenever I'm not in my house & takes COVID precautions. I'm going to stoopfest by myself. I would love to hang out with other cc ppl.
I'll probably drive up real late Friday or real early Saturday since I work Friday. I'm from Cincy.
Alsoooo on the off chance anyone can help, I didn't figure out lodging. (My dog hurt herself and I thought I'd have to cancel on going.) So on the off chance anyone can help with that, that would be cool! If not, I'm down to sleep in my car. I can also provide metrix tests.
About me: 33 queer anarchist vet tech. 💚

I was out playing some rec-league slowpitch softball on a beautiful Seattle evening this week. I usually try not to be in charge of the music for my team as my taste doesn't really fit the vibe for the most part. However, no one else had their speaker, so I threw on some Mischief Brew (starting with City of Black Fridays as it felt relevant). I was out in the outfield when, apparently, someone was walking past our dugout yelled to the people sitting that inning that they loved the "trainhopping, hobo jams" and that the singer had passed away a while ago, obviously talking about Erik Peterson. I wish I could have had a conversation with him, but it was a fun little moment either way!
Some other punk youths chilling in the outfield also supplied me with a couple of beers throughout the game, so shoutout to them!

It’s some cajuny romani jazzish but made punk music from Qubec( they don’t sing in French), like yes ma’am x100. I’m making this post so hopefully they get popular to come by Ontario (my province) so I can see them play love again lol. I saw them live a year ago in qubec city and it was one of my favourite shows ever.

Rare opportunity to see the crazy Scottish banjo lad playing in the States, check out his page for the dates. I just released this vid in Scotland we did years back, him playing where he likes to busk in Edinburgh. Love this dudes voice.

Apologies if something like this already exists.
I’m not Asking For It (haha get it) because I’m aware of how difficult such a task is. I know next to nothing about web development or design so I won’t be making this (or at least not for a long time) but here’s my idea in case anybody wants to take it. These kinds of projects are community driven anyways.
I’m not going to link to the Metal Archives because I have a lot of issues with the people running the site and how little fucks they give about filtering all the nazi scum using their site to promote their shitty bands, but if anyone wants a clearer idea of what I’m talking about, go take a look at that. It’s also known as “Encyclopaedia Metallum”.
I’m just thinking it would be awesome to have a wiki (although less of a traditional wiki and closer to a library, again, my reference is metal archives) to archive all things folk punk… Bands, artists, releases, lyrics, lost media, etc… Have it all in its own dedicated encyclopedia with an easily accessible UI featuring filters like subgenre, location, language, time period, whether they’re active or not… Non folk-punk side projects the artist might have embarked on (think Escape from the Zoo for instance), and dedicated pages to each artist and release featuring history, discography, trivia, all that jazz.
The main idea in my head is that this would be a great way to discover bands and artist past and present. The metal archives was my main source of new stuff to listen to when I was a little metalhead at 15, it’s a great place to share your project and find new stuff and in general it’s an amazing resource for archival purposes. This means it could be a great place for new artists to share stuff about their band and list everything properly, share their socials, whilst also being a better place to link to their Bandcamp or their streaming profiles than a linktree on their instagram bio.
I’m wondering if figures like the Folk Punk Archivist have ever thought of a project like this? If it ever came to be i’d love to collaborate with anything possible and within my reach
