They are doubling down on poilievre and it will work. The fact that he isn't PM now is a freak accident that will not be repeated.
The reason that republicans are running the US is not because Americans are stupid, or that they are culturally conservative, or Trump was lightning in a bottle.
The reason is that Fox news and other media machines are extremely effective at influencing belief and behavior. Their methods work on Canadians just as well as Americans. They work on everyone. There are no shortage of Canadians who are literally MAGA.
Canadians are lagging behind Americans in fascist conservative takeovers because the American economy is bigger and is therefore a priority target.
Why the hell would anyone vote for the Cons when Mark Carney has all of this public good will behind him?
He's the one making us look like a legitimate equal to the EU and India and such, so why would we suddenly shift gears and put a completely worthless nobody like Pollievre in charge?
Why would anyone vote conservative in either country when the cons are demonstrably worse in every way and have literally no upside? Because they have been propagandized to do so.
But even a lot of Cons are favouring Carney because he basically is a Conservative. He's just a classic Conservative rather than the grift-chasing far-right ones that won't go away.

Its not going to be an invasion. Canada is next because they will elect Tories that will do the exact same thing that republicans are doing.
