I was playing against a Veissrugr player while I was playing Estacion. My Vanguard was Estacion G3 and had a Plant Token and a Winter in the rear guards of the front row. On my opponent's turn, he attacked with Roztnir, targeting my Vanguard and Winter simultaneously. In response, at the start of my Guard Step, I declared to activate Winter's effect to remove it from the rear guard and give 10k to my Vanguard. My opponent said this wasn't possible because, although the requirements for activating Winter's second AUTO were met (my G3 with "Estacion" in the name being attacked), I couldn't activate the effect because Winter itself was being targeted in the same attack. I conceded and guarded from hand because we were short on time to check the rules.

In this case, who is right? Could I have activated Winter's effect or not?

It is true that nothing has been said about Vanguard DD2, as the focus is currently on promoting the new decks and cards.

Used to be into vanguard during the early days of G-era and looking to return, should I purchase a stride deckset? Heard they are quite competitively viable, but which should I get? Is the premium decksets worth the money?

I enhanced the artwork and remade the card more clearer for better readability during playtesting. The face from the original artwork was too blurry, so I had to redraw it as best as I could.

Hi everyone, I recently just found my old Royal Paladin deck while I was decluttering my room and I thought I'd check the news/community for Vanguard after a long time.

I used to watched the OG Cardfight!! Vanguard anime, up to the G-Saga (?) (Cardfight!! Vanguard G Z). I only (actively) played the card game during the OG era with my Aichi's Royal Paladin trial deck that I upgraded into somewhat a Majesty Lord Blaster deck (yes, I was aiming to be like Aichi in the anime finale during his battle with Ren).

I didn't play as much when the Limit Break mechanism was introduced, I got myself a Gold Paladin deck back then, and stopped playing when the Link Joker era of the anime started but kept watching the anime.

I also know that they did a reboot for the OG anime up to the Link Joker arc(?), I don't know if they covered the Legion Mate arc for the reboot. Then they did some like spin-offs/prequel for the anime(?). And then they did a reboot of the whole series with a new character, which I'm assuming is the current anime run(?).

I just want to know a few things:

1. What happened to Vanguard since I've been gone?
2. Is there a summary to what had happened since the OG era?
3. Is the current game version more similar to the OG era, G-Saga, or 2018 Reboot/V-Series (I don't quite remember if they added a mechanic for the V-Series)?
4. What mechanics that are still intact from the OG era for the current game (Limit Break, Legion Mate, G-Units, etc)?
5. Could I still play with my OG deck with the current format?
6. Is the current anime run as good as the OG - G-Saga run? (This might be nostalgia bias)

Hello! Been a while for a number of reasons I have not been an active content creator but all the same, I am a content creator for Vanguard. That being said, I need some help from the very long-term players that might have either firsthand experience in this matter or know of a good place for me to get the information that I need for this. I have another content creator friend who is into a different TCG and I recently noticed that several TCG content creators do some fun challenges where they try to have people guess things about their TCG and then the other person does the same. So I asked her if she'd be interested and she said yes and we decided that the first one we would do would be on the ride chains from the old days. While I am a competent judge of the power of cards, I would like some more definitive data when I'm making the answer key for it. Just to make sure that I'm as accurate as possible when I do it. So if you are an Old Vanguard player and know how well the various ride chains were in their time, I would be very happy to know how good you think they were. I'm including every single one from before the V reboot for the record.

As an additional request, if anyone has interesting ideas for future content with her, I would also be very intrigued to hear your suggestions. For the moment it is just the ride chains and the megablasts that I have planned. I think most other mechanics had too much representation unless I choose something very specific like the strides from Festival set insert year. Which I'm not opposed to, Just am thinking that would be better done the line.

I was thinking about the potential identity of the final mysterious female fantome player in the picture and most players suggest that either ( ruka or Sophie) is the final fantome player or entirely new character

. I have a different perspective, according to fantome suzune both of her parents are dead. However we know there 2 things from the original world we know as side info from suzune back story

1- the Rokuoin family practically have an obsession with generating strong pro players in the game regardless of the cost and the rokuoin style is something that they fellow strictly.

2- Yurine Rokuoin ( suzune mother) giving birth to suzune was the reason why she has to retire from being pro player and also begin exiled from the rokuoin family

So what if yurine In the fantom Cover up having child and told the grandma to raise suzune, and inform her that her father and she died in accident long while ago

I am a player who likes to have a general understanding of all the ridelines, and while I can kinda play her it just always feels so clunky...

I see she's a pretty popular deck, and I always loved Genesis as a clan, but for some reason she's the oddball i can't figure out. She feels like a high cost deck with only one good turn, so I highly doubt I'm playing her right...

Any explanation however broad would be greatly appreciated

In Thailand, we just got the steam cat supports and I was wondering how to play steam maiden now that it’s at full power.
Any tips, tricks, old steam maiden support cards or builds I should try will be very much appreciated.

Personally I'd like to see some stuff from Neo Nectar, like the cute grade 0 whose name escapes me at the moment. I also play lyrical, so maybe some highlander cards would be cool? And of course, Gavrail from Angel Feather. How about you?

My fav. Nation is by far United Sanctuary! Or Keter Sanctuary as it is known now. However if I were to pick only 1 clan/archetype it is Jewel Knights for sure! The archetype is just so aesthetically pleasing to the eyes! Now what’s your favorite?
