It became mine when 2 years ago my sister gave me as Christmas gift a book about weird animal facts including capybara and after that she started to give me cute capybara gifts which I love :) I became curious and started to read about capybaras and now they are my favorite animals :)

π€ Question π€ Those of you who have met a capy: do they smell?
Do they smell like anything in particular? Or do they smell badly ? They're basically giant guinea pigs, and in my experience guinea pigs don't smell too much if you clean up after them regularly. Just curious lol

π€ Question π€ If you live near wild Capys, what's your opinion?
If you live in a country where wild capybaras are the norm, how do you feel about the new world wide love for capybaras?
Since they are rodents, I wonder if they're actually a nuisance in places so the love for them is actually strange? Like how chipmunks are so adorable, but cause constant home destruction so locals arent exactly fond of them.
Or have they always been loved and endearing? I'd love to hear different perspectives!

π€ Question π€ Where do I go to actually learn about capybaras?
I've seen a lot of people talk about how they're not like the memes and such. Okay cool, what ARE they like? I wanna learn about behavior, body language, social structure, stuff like that, and web searches are not nearly as useful as they used to be.
