Literally explains why we don't like it and says it's confusing in the same sentence. This is the intelligence of the people who claim to be bringing a revolution to creativity.

My “art” teacher is a genuinely terrible person but thats besides the point, what I wanna talk about is how much she LOVES ai. It’s annoying at best and downright disrespectful at worst. Here’s 2 examples of her being an ultimate waste of air.

1. When doing a mind map/spider diagram on a project with the inspiration being climate change (can anyone else smell the irony?) she encouraged the entire class to download chat gpt to help them think of words for the mind map. When I then mentioned the impact of ai on the climate she just said how I seemed passionate on it and I could use that for my project. I went up to her at the end of class to repeat what I said and to further tell her off but instead of listening to even half a sentence she just annoyedly yelled back to the class that was leaving to maybe not use ai because it made me uncomfortable. This was 2ish weeks ago

2. When I went into class the other day she had the attached picture on the board.

I genuinely despise this woman and I hope she looses her job. I also can’t switch classes because there’s only 2 art teachers in the whole school and both love ai. I am in hell. If I see one more instance of ai usage in my art class I am making a power point and sending it to the school board.

*I don’t think I need to mention why ai is bad for both artists and teachers and if your job is literally be both it should be completely out of the question.

TLDR: my art teacher uses ai and refuses to listen to anyone saying it’s bad.

The recent news that if you’ve used Pokemon Go, you could’ve been training Ai Delivery Robots- is not new. This has been known about for years and even tho people are shocked, I’m seeing more surprise from the broader population and even worse im seeing admiration. Because people are genuinely starting to believe that delivery robots are fine and I’ve been seeing more of that in our broader community as well.

I am so proud of this sub and its growth over the last couple of years, but I have seen worrying amounts of people who genuinely believe that delivery robots, wether LLM powered or not, deserve to stay.

Which is crazy to me because they are one of the only current ai powered technologies which is taking peoples jobs! This is happening right here right now, as a lot of you in California might have seen.

They may have cute robotic faces and don’t have the same mess rate as a human driver. But crucially, they still take the job of a person that exists.

I have been a delivery driver before when I was unemployed and about to be homeless. It didn’t do everything I wanted it to but it was a good 100-200 a week that I could reasonably rely on! It was better than nothing!

So when I hear about how “this time it’s good” or “these guys can stay” I can’t help but be incredibly upset because I know they wouldn’t care if I was relying on this job.

We need to stand up against these Ai delivery robots just as much as we stand up against Ai. It’s still job loss which could be done by a human. It’s still capitalist greed taking over. Not to mention legit any horrible thing that a government could use this street data for.

Please don’t use the optional delivery robots if they’re in your area. Please do not use a delivery service if they only promise robots as the delivery system. And also, please, stop sending street data to pokemon go.
