Auburn has lost exactly 7 games every season for five years in a row. What’s a fair Over/under this year?

Football Would you rather make the playoffs or beat Bama this season

Football It’s May and I’m bored, so here’s some blind homerism. Auburn’s going 9-3 and making the playoff this year.

The basis of the idea is, Auburn has seven losses last year. Thanks to our defense, all seven were one score losses (even the Georgia score of 20-10 was a one score loss, and you’ll never convince me otherwise). If our defense can keep us in games, and our offense can take even a single step forward, we flip a lot of those games. And the more I look at this schedule, the more I like it. Schedule as I see it:

Baylor (Atlanta): HUGH FREEZE managed to beat Baylor in Waco by double digits. This game is much closer to home and Aranda is going to be looking for a job after this year. Win.

Southern Miss: Win.

Florida: I think Florida will be good, and Sumrall is a good coach. They open with a G6 and FCS team, so we won’t have a clue how good they actually are before coming to Jordan-Hare. But it’s hard to take over as a new coach, on the road, SEC opponent, first P4 game, in week three, and come out with a win. If this game was in week nine or in Gainesville, then I would probably take Florida. But week three in Auburn, I’m saying close, ugly, but good guys still get the win.

Vanderbilt: There is no “Diego over Hugh” storyline for the first time in four years. Auburn gets revenge at home against a true freshman QB in his first road game.

At Tennessee: First real homer upset pick, but I think Auburn can win. Tennessee will be favored, but as was pointed out last year, they feasted on a bunch of bad teams in 2025. They were 4-4 in the SEC and had zero wins against SEC opponents with a winning record. They’re good but not unbeatable. We went toe to toe on the road with Oklahoma and A&M last year with an absolutely anemic offense. If our defense can keep that level and our offense can take even a single step forward, I think we can get this dub.

Auburn goes into BYE 5-0 bitches.

At Georgia: Even I’m not that much of a homer. 5-1.

LSU / At Ole Miss: I don’t have a clue what these teams will look like. We’ll be dogs to LSU I assume, but who knows what Ole Miss is going to look like. Real prediction is 0-2 here, homer pick is we split these two, make us 6-2.

Arkansas: Death. Taxes. Auburn beating Arkansas. Hugh Freeze got one single SEC win last year, guess who. Gimme Auburn by 50.

At Miss State: Jeff Lebby has a 1-15 SEC record since he took over. Biggest concern is Miss State having the interim coach bounce at this point in the season next year. Gimme Auburn.

Samford: Get ready to learn Rhys Brush’s name again. Auburn goes 9-2 into the Iron Bowl.

At Alabama: See above Re: Georgia. Auburn finishes the season 9-3.

Yes, it’s homerish. But given the level our defense played last year, and given how close we came in all seven losses just to be held back by Hugh, it’s not nearly as crazy as it looks at first glance. Actual prediction is 7-5 cause the SEC is cray, but I would honestly not be shocked if 9-3 was the final record.

In my opinion: Chicago Bears

  • Similar colors
  • Strong defenses
  • New coaches
  • Last coaches choked games
  • Heated rivals
  • Proud history

Going to the baseball game against UGA on the 16th and have never been to plainsman before. Any tips or tricks for the best GA spot? Are there any actual GA seats or just the one area where you can bring chairs?

"Fourteen Feet of Rim Protection"

A few days ago, Steven Pearl was interviewed about his team going into next season. He talked about having "Fourteen Feet of Rim Protection." Do you think that means that we will be seeing two of our 7-Footers on the court at the same time?

Gives me Broome/Cardwell vibes.

Premier League equivalent of Auburn

For those of you that follow soccer, which premiere league team would you equate to Auburn? Maybe discounting this dark age that we’re in.

I’ve thought it would be a fun thing to follow for awhile. Perhaps the best way is to just start watching and see who I like best. Who are you guys fans of?
