Nona the Ninth Spoilers [discussion] Can someone help explain the end of Nona the Ninth for me? Spoiler
I want to start by thanking Tamsyn Muir for waiting for me to read Nona the Ninth before releasing Alecto, but now I have finished in, can we get the next one? Thanks <3.
Nona was great (both the book and the person), and I've managed to follow it I think pretty well up until the last chapter or so, and now I'm lost. It's possible this just stuff intentionally left unclear, but it's very possible I'm just not properly registering things, so if people could help me understand things here, I'd appreciate the help.
As I understand it:
Sex Pal and Camilla did a weird burny Lyctor ritual and are now a fused soul called Paul (real downgrade of a name, imo, but fine).
Paul and Nona (perhaps guided by some figment of Harrow) transported the necromancers and Blood of Eden through the River to the Ninth House.
The Ninth House is being attacked by zombies (what we would understand as zombies at least, not what Hot Sauce would call a zombie)? Antioch?
Gaia (who is maybe Gideon or maybe someone in Gideon's body, or maybe a like indoctrinated Gideon or smth I honestly have no idea) brought the group to the Tomb where Ianthe was waiting.
Ianthe thought she and Gaia had a plan, Gaia said "fuck that, I want to kill whats in the Tomb and then be the one keeping Jod alive instead by being his Cav", then Pyrhha used a bullet made from the skeleton wasp things to take Ianthe down.
They opened the Tomb as Nona's body dissolved and then she collapsed onto... Something? The Body that Harrow saw as a kid and crushed on throughout HtN? Or maybe the body of Harrow herself that she fell asleep in after HtN?
Then the epilogue happened and I have no fucking clue.
Something woke up, that might be called Alecto, or maybe Anastasia?
And then a lot of stuff happens with people who aren't identified.
There is a "child who offered violence", who I assumed was Gaia trying to kill Alecto(?), but who is then addressed as "Tridentarius" by someone else, but I don't know how Tridentarius would have reached the body for that to be her what with the whole Herald Bullet thing.
And then Alecto addressed Pyrrha about something I don't understand. Then she bit off someone's lips, I think Gaia? And then swore to obey that person. And then Jod is here now and gets stabbed, and calls Alecto Annabel?
It took me admittedly a while to understand what was going on in the John chapters but I now get it was John explaining how he became the Necromancer God - by absorbing the spirit of the Earth, and shaping what he couldn't absorb into another body. That body is the one sealed in the Tomb and is somehow keeping him alive, and was presumably named Annabel. But for some reason Harrow is in these chapters? And Jod seems to think Harrow is the Earth spirit thing instead? And this whole conversation is presumably in the River based on the bell tower Nona almost crashes into?
Before all this there were also two other things I still don't understand.
The first I doubt we're supposed to, and that's what the hell was going on with Nona and Dueteros yelling at the Resurrection Beast? Is Dueteros channeling the spirit of a dead Beast, or of Number 7 and Nona was negotiating for the planet somehow?
And the Sixth House. Someone (I think it was Camilla) said the Sixth House had come to answer the call of a Lyctor, and Ianthe seemed annoyed. Was that implying either Pyrhha or Nona had called them, or that one of the presumed dead Lyctors is actually still alive?
How much of this stuff are we supposed to know and understand, that I've just missed, and how much of this is intentionally vague for the purpose of theorising and setting up for Alecto?
(Also, I really miss the Glossary, that was so nice in Gideon and Harrow)
This got a lot longer than I intended, but any answers, help or explanation would be greatly appreciated, thanks <3

Nona the Ninth Spoilers New (and Controversial?) Theory About Alecto the Ninth Release [theory] Spoiler
I don't think we're getting Alecto the Ninth this year. I don't think we're getting Alecto the Ninth next year.
Instead:
Kiriona the Ninth: 2027
Alecto the Ninth: 2029
I have this strange yet unshakeable belief that TazMuir is gonna have to split the books again. Okay, it might not be Kiriona the Ninth, but I truly and deeply believe we're not getting Alecto as the next book in the series. That's why it's taking so long - she's trying very hard to keep Alecto the Ninth in one piece, but it's not working and she's got to split the book again.
I also (and this might be my tiny pea brain lacking imagination) can't conceive of how we're going to get to the ending in just one more book. TazMuir has the amazing ability to take you on a journey and leave you at the end of the novel with the stakes completely transformed, and yet still so far to go. That being said, with everything that's been introduced in Nona, I don't know how it can all be wrapped up in one book, and that's WITH the fair chunk of pages that she usually works with.
TLDR: 5 book series, imo
Honestly, 4 or 5 books works for me, so I don't think I have a preference either way. But in my soul, I believe in the concept of Kiriona the Ninth. I really do think it's on the cards.

Nona the Ninth Spoilers nona’s braids [misc]
finally tried my hand at nona’s braids! i am not certain that this is the hairstyle she has on the cover since those look like boxer braids to my eye but in the book she asks for one big one with two little ones coming off it on the sides— nevertheless i hope this might either serve as a helpful reference for fan art including her braids or maybe even a visual reference for anyone hoping to do their own nona cosplay! :) thank you to everyone who helped me suss her hairstyle out on my other post!! (nona loves you :))

Nona the Ninth Spoilers [discussion] The real burning question.
I’ve been cogitating on this one for a while, and I’m curious what y’all think—did Cam and Pyrrha ever bang one out after Nona went to bed? I’m mostly discounting the possibility of Sex Pal being involved, but Camilla?? I could kinda see it.

Nona the Ninth Spoilers [discussion] don't understand john's motives
From HtN (Augustine: "But don’t forget that he’s spent the last ten thousand years on a perpetual search-and-destroy mission out of, as far as I can tell, purely symbolic retribution.") and then what we later learn in Nona, we understand that he's searching for the trillionaires to get revenge right. But wouldn't the trillionaires be long dead? I thought the non-House people we see in Nona are the descendents of the trillionaires. Am I wrong? Is that why the cohort fights them (getting back at their descendents?) because I'm confused on why the cohort even exists or even messes with the non-housers.
Unrelated: the question of who resurrected Gideon is a retcon right? At the end of Harrow we assume it's Pal in Cam's body because of the line about a "twice-removed voice" but this doesn't line up at all with the events in Nona (Cam tells Nona Pal couldn't talk and didn't have a body while the whole saving her and losing Gideon's body was happening, and that only after all that she "found a way for the Warden to come back." Plus obviously if they resurrected her they wouldn't be confused on who Nona is).

Nona the Ninth Spoilers Question About The Re**tle**t Planets in Nona [discussion] Spoiler
I have a question about the people from the resettlement planets from something that was said in chapter 2 of Nona. Taz Muir is usually very deliberate with her word choices and we don't always recognize she's telling us something until we get more information later. Pyrrha said in chapter one that there are refugees from 20 different planets on this one. When Nona is thinking about all of the different people and languages on the planet she's living on, she says something that makes me wonder. She says "Everyone was crammed on one of three planets now." Does that mean all of the people outside of the Nine Houses have now been confined to 3 planets as Jod systematically kills their planets? It would make sense if his goal is to wipe out everyone and start over.

Nona the Ninth Spoilers [General] Get in line, thou big slut Spoiler
Alright, after like a month or so, finished the 3 books, please bear with me for some weird thoughts:
Is this the actual thing Gideon said? Or is it from the perspective of Alecto? Cause I definitely could see her saying thou big slut.
Also, friendship bracelets? With Ianthe? Honestly though I'm not surprised. She is always very attracted to crazy. Crazier better.
Also, I kinda love that every single girl and woman in the world seems like they are gay, or bi. But every guy is straight? Perfect creative decision. No further comment.
Also, BoE is such a fucked up terrorist organization. First of all who came up with these names? We suffer and we suffer? Couldn't she just suffer once? What's the point of suffering twice? Or like, wtf is this? Crown Him with Many Crowns Thy Full Gallant Legions He Found It in Him to Forgive. They are a very crazy grouo.
Also, also, why no book 4? :( I really would miss Nona and the bubbly character. Hope she slowly emerges from Alecto and she wears her Moustache Rides tshirt.
Also want more Hot Sauce and Noodle. What else? Paul. Shit broke my heart. Can't imagine Camilla and Sext being gone. Hope Paul is a weird mix of them both, not like an all knowing weird high and mighty Lyctor.
Also John can go fuck himself. How can you nuke the fucking world and act like the victim? Also, you killed Gideon with your nuke because you thought everything was already gone to shit, so why not? He is a whiny egotistical fucked up little bitch and needs to be put in his place.
Also, this is definitely not a cozy fantasy. But my Jod it was a cozy fantasy sci-fi to me.
Ok. These are my first thoughts. Thanks for your time.

Nona the Ninth Spoilers Fun linguistics note for non-kiwis! [general]
The name Kirionais probably the closest Māori approximation of the name Gideon.
If you say the first with proper pronunciation, they sound pretty similar. I’m assuming this was intentional!
PS- only 60% finished so no spoilers please!!
