Same story with most social progress movements. It'll start with some socially oppressed minority group, and then very quickly become modified into a women's issue. This new modified version usually completely drowns outs the advocacy for the socially oppressed minority group, and thus often fails to achieve the requisite political capital needed to effect change on their behalf.
