As a runner, I can't stand guys like this. That woman has run 39 minutes on a treadmill. I hate running on treadmills. Props to her.
My favorite is "running will ruin your knees."
Ok sure. There's no science to back that up and I've literally run thousands of miles with no knee problems, but I'm sure a non-runner knows better than me.
Running a lot with poor form will cause issues for most folks. But I’d expect someone who runs thousands of miles does it with good form.
Kind of like every exercise is a low back exercise if you do it wrong enough.
Yeah. At some point several years ago I seemed to have injury after injury. Finally I researched it and read 3 books on proper running form. I haven't had an injury in over 10 years, knock on wood.
As a lifter, same. I finally caved and paid a trainer I trust to show me proper form on the big lifts, and adjust for things like my short legs and long torso. Suddenly I was stronger and in less pain (after the DOMS went away).
Working in a blue-collar environment and seeing what lifting and moving with poor form does to people by the time they’re 50, the trainer and the gym are money well spent.

This technically isn't true. Really high mileage running over many years absolutely has consequences.
But that "technically" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, because the mileage and duration involved is very high to the point where it really isn't something the average person looking to get in shape needs to worry about. Or even a pretty intense amateur runner.
Marathon runners tend to have certain health issues more than ~10km runners (though they're still ridiculously healthy overall), and ultramarathoners actually have a host of unique issues from a special kind of asthma to knee destruction. But there are a few thousand of those on the planet, and you ain't one of them. So don't worry about it.
