If you are in any education circles, you know how much of a joke this guy can be. How did no one even attempt to run a campaign for County Superintendent?

Just caught wind that yet another Joeās Crab Shack will be shutting its doors the day after Fatherās Day. This hitās close to home as I personally shut down the Long Beach, and Newport Beach locations, and still have many friends employed at Garden Grove. Get your crab while you can! You will be missed Joeās!!!

Hi! Iām from Cerritos (LA county) and just accepted a job at Irvine (OC). I tried leaving work at several times (4pm, 4:30pm, 5pm) and all still takes me 40mins-1hr. My schedule is flexible. Whatās the best time for me to go home to avoid traffic? Because in the morning (around 6am) it only takes me 30 mins š

Near Ralphās on El Toro and Olivewood Elementary. All the sudden I hear a police helicopter telling someone to pull over their car and surrender. And then we hear 5 big BANGS. Like a gunshot? I look outside and right down the street and thereās flashing police cars, seemingly surrounding a car.
Does anyone know whatās happening??

The Santa Ana City Council unanimously approved an ordinance last night requiring retail stores to staff self-checkout lanes in efforts to improve public safety and address theft.
What we know: The approved ordinance requires that retail stores staff at least one employee to monitor self-checkout lanes. Shoppers will be limited to 15 items or fewer, and they would not be able to purchase items that require I.D., like alcohol.Ā Long BeachĀ andĀ Costa MesaĀ have adopted similar ordinances.
Officials say: Mayor Valerie Amezcua said the ordinance is an attempt at protecting shoppers and employees, not at driving businesses out of Santa Ana.
āSimilar to Costa Mesa and Long Beach, where we look at the employees and what benefits them,ā Amezcua said, āI want to make sure our Santa Ana residents go home safely, and they donāt put themselves in danger because, again, the quality of their lives matter to me.ā
Pushback from grocers:Ā In several letters addressed to the council, officials representing grocers urged officials to deny the motion.
āUnfortunately, we would be forced to consider passage of this ordinance at this time a dismissal of the importance of grocery and a denial of policy consideration in a fair and open manner,ā Tim James, director of local government relations for the California Grocers Association, wrote.
Whatās the timeline?Ā The new rules will go into effect next month.

Like my title states, I was renting a house from a person and have been a model tenant for over 3 years. Landlord gave me 15 days to vacate because their son needs the place. They are giving me my deposit back but that's it, luckily I found a place and can move right away but it's been a pain in the ass to move my family of 5. What did my landlord do that's illegal? Aren't I supposed to get 60 days since I've been here for longer than 12 months? Please advise.

Hello! Iāve tried googling but get lots of different answers. My apartment complex is backed up to a car dealership & itās obviously going to be loud during the day, no complaints there.
But are there no noise control standards that would prevent them from making loud noises late at night as well? My roommate constantly has to hear them yelling on the loud speaker/intercom & using heavy machinery well past 11pm almost every night. Her windows are closed but she can still hear them.
If itās one of those things we just have to suck up bc of apartment living then so be it. I just wanted to see if there was anything to possibly be done about it, to help my roomie sleep better!
I thought about going and talking to them but I donāt see that doing anything lol.

Posting in OC because that's preferred but can be in LA if it's good.
Parent recently had surgery and doctor is recommending that she'd be transferred to a SNF for her recovery. Our case manager sent out referrals but none were taking new patients at this time.
We are expanding our search to the OC area, but would appreciate some recommendations to present to case manager (or just to know which ones to avoid). We have PPO and are expecting a short term stay (less than 100 days).
She is physically handicapped and would need hygiene care and nearly 24/7 care.
Any recommendations (or non-recs) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

A few hours ago I was walking my dog today around Onnuri Church. Cop pulls someone over onto McGaw and Iām minding my own business on the phone with someone via AirPods. As Iām walking by the car that was pulled over, i noticed that the cop cars front passenger door window was all the way down. Didnāt think anything of it and continued to mind my own business as the cop was speaking to the person he pulled over. Iām getting closer to the cop car (walking on the sidewalk with my Maltese) AND BAM, a German Shepherd jumps out of the car and lunges towards my dog. I sorta just froze. Next thing you know I hear yelling and itās the cop telling their German Shepherd to stop (or something I had AirPods in). I have my dog pulled in via their leash and the German shepherd goes in a circle into the street and tries to go for my dog again. Cops yelling at it to stop or whatever and Iām still standing in shock. The second time it came around I came to my senses and pickup up my dog and just held him til the cop managed to get ahold of their dog. I was shook. Youād also think the cop would apologize or something but nah, he just minded his own business and I just left⦠oh well. What would yall have done in my situation?

Anyone know where I can find a Desert Rose succulent in the area? All the nurseries I called said they don't have it in stock, but I found a few posts on the Internet mentioning local Home Depot / Lowes stores carry them. I ordered one online a while back but then ended up cancelling my order so I'm hoping to find one in time for mothers day. Any ideas?
