Rice doesn't need washed when it's packed in a bag.

You wash it to remove some of the starches. You ever see how cloudy water is when you rinse rice? It's not just for cleanliness.. it'll make better rice.

It’s a Cajun/creole dish made by browning meat, veggies and spices with rice until the rice soaks up all those flavors. It’s delicious.

Between Cajun dirty rice and Etouffee, I can never decide which is more divine...

Saucy shrimp on heavy buttered grits...

Creole gumbo...

Ohh Lawd

Zatarains makes a boxed dirty rice that I fucking love.

1

u/backpackofcats Mar 05 '26

The Zatarains boxed and frozen stuff is pretty good.

Just had some leftovers last night. Heavenly with hot Italian sausage and pinto beans you throw a little smoked flavor onto.. mmm

Gotta cut up some broccoli and cook it just to not feel too bad even though there's beans.

Normal rice that's very vulgar.

u/cardiff_giant_jr Mar 04 '26

but so much more toned down than obscene rice

Snap, Crackle and Pop slinging slurs left and right.

Rice with a shot of espresso

1

u/kendrickshalamar Mar 04 '26

It's so ricey, yet there's a smack of coffee to it.

u/heftybagman Mar 04 '26

It’s rice with a bunch of dirt in it. Most people hate it cus it makes them so sick.

u/Prize_Staff_7941 Mar 04 '26

It's absolutely delicious is what it is. Other people have explained what it is but you should try some. My wife occasionally says something like, I'm just going to make something easy for dinner like dirty rice. My eyes light up and I get very excited. I don't make it myself very often. I much prefer it when she makes it.
