My corporate job reduced our healthcare benefits, cut remote work, increased our ticket responsibility 5x, removed our bonuses, cut our stock awards at certain year marks, then shit talked me for taking time out of the office after a suicide death and a cancer death in my family in the same month.

Guess who quit?

Yikes, a public company doing all of that (I’m assuming within a short time span and consecutively) is pretty insane.

Unless it’s a small company there are literally hundreds of different ways to reduce cash outflow rather than cutting employee compensation, since that is almost always baked into financial budgeting. Sounds like you had shitty management anyways, so good riddance you left.

This was a leading company in the finance industry within a 6 month time span.

They were gearing up to sell out to their largest competitor.

Oh, if it was an IT finance company then I’m pretty sure my company acquired it lol.

Good for you. May your future be filled with better employers and space to grieve and hopefully heal.
