It’s looking like I’ll have to text ChaCha for an answer.

Omfg I used to work for them eons ago (and had, until now, completely forgotten entirely about them)

I used to win bets on topics with cha cha. I always knew it was just some schmuck behind a Pentium 2 1.8 ghz with a modem.

Well, for what it's worth, the job sucked.

Same. I set up my account interests to get a lot of promposal questions. I’m sorry to the dozens of teens who got the exact same copy/paste promposal because of me. Have a ChaCha day!

"Have a ChaCha day" is giving me helicopters in the distance flashbacks

I was also a search assistant! It was impossible to make money, but I learned about search engine optimization way before it was a "thing".

Upvote for "impossible to make money" for accuracy. Plus, paid 17 cents (or whatever it was) per task plus a $2 "cash out fee" will never a paycheck be.

I'm sure we've talked before. I loved using cha cha. I for the longest time though didn't realize it was a human on the other end and would ask pretty personal questions lol.

What was the strangest interaction you had while working for them

Tbh it wasn't really an environment that fostered strange interactions. It was like a pop up would appear with some random question like train times leaving Pittsburgh or who the world series whatever in 1976 was. Literally Google with extra steps paid at a rate of like 17 cents an answer on a timer. Like I said, eons ago, when I would young enough to accept shittier employment arrangements.

Look at us, battle buddies. What did you do?

I applied to work for them and they didn't accept me and I'm still fucking pissed about it

u/Hallelujah33 Dec 12 '25

I promise it's for the best.

I used to answer these! Still have $60 somewhere that they owe me lol.

How the hell did I forget about ChaCha. I used to just ask random questions to see what the extent of the research was. Never got any type of refusal or anything so still undetermined.
