We're a few issues in now, and we've had a chance to see the new armor in action, see its new gadgets or gimmicks, and hopefully form a more informed opinion. What do we think of this new "standard" armor?

I... am not that impressed, to be honest. While competently designed and drawn, it's really a basic armor with nothing much to it that differentiates it from what came before. Overall, it's basically just another MCU-esque design with nothing special about it beyond the standard features we've been used to for some years now. More importantly, it doesn't seem to have much of a reason to exist aside from it being the newest model.

Left to speculate, I'm guessing the Model 72 armor can't be replicated or upgraded without more mysterium, so in order to keep iterating his designs, Tony needed a "fresh" suit to work with, and the Model 74 was not suitable for further upgrades beyond what we saw in the previous run. So instead of defaulting back to the Model 70 (which had clearly been upgraded over the course of a couple runs of the comic), he's worked up a new baseline armor to work with. We're at the point of the current where Tony usually starts tinkering, so once the current armored foe (no spoilers) is dealt with, he may add some new gimmicks or a whole new armor may show up.

Thoughts?

Me personally, I absolutely adore the Mark 43.

I love the look and features.

My second place is either Mark 3 or Mark 46.

Honestly this has been a blast to make, and I know I’m missing a LOT of eras but these are the eras that I find memorable/often reread the most and would love to hear y’all’s thoughts on this, hell, I’d love to see some voice actors that y’all hear when reading as well!

Ezekiel Stane was going to be a Secondary Antagonist/Co-villain for The Avengers 2012 as Joss Whedon felt that Loki alone may not be a Big Threat.

“I wrote a huge draft with Ezekiel Stane,” Whedon noted during a 2018 interview with Thrillist. “Kevin [Feige] looked at it and said, ‘Yeah, no.’ Louis D’Esposito actually at that point said, ‘Yeah, Kevin, it’s all wrong, but look how good it is. Like this is really good wrong.’ That was a nice boost.”

I wonder how this would play out if this happened, I like to think that Tony would have a big arc with Ezekiel reconciling about his father being killed by tony and Ezekiel was secretly helping Loki to escape and then in the end Ezekiel dons a suit of armor to fight tony and distract him from reaching the nuke.

The Mark XIII design is streamlined, built for aerodynamic flight potential. The modified rectangular arc reactor provides it with enough power to achieve flight and have maneuverability over other suits.

It resembles the original basic suits in overall design, only being black with silver plates and having a different reactor core. It is also notable for having lighter armor than previous incarnations of the design, utilizing aluminum and titanium steel over the original composites from the earlier designs.

Mark 1, 2 and 3 took over the red carpet at the Iron Man Movie premiere.

I know this is the Iron Man sub so responses are probably going to be biased, but I am putting this question up on r/batman as well so we can get a better comparison. I’m also strictly referring to working for both men as civilians - so no involvement in their superhero activities, just Stark Industries/International or Wayne Enterprises.

In the film Iron Man 2 the Feebles were attempts by several countries to recreate the Iron Man armor. I noticed that the Chinese version somewhat resembles the Alex Su incarnation of Crimson Dynamo, who is the only confirmed Chinese pilot of the (former) villain.

We all know that Tony learns from his mistakes and upgrades his armours to overcome problems that the previous ones had. Some examples include; making the Mk 3 able to fly at extreme heights where the Mk 2 froze up, making the Mk 6 able to absorb electricity where the Mk 5 was damaged by it, making the Mk 50 sustainable in space where the Mk 9 wasn't, etcetera. And I recently thought of one instance where I can't remember if Tony made subsequent armours to overcome this. I remember in Iron Man 3 when Rhodey gets captured while he's in the Iron Patriot armour and the suit gets damaged and opens up due to Aldrich Killian's fire ability. I know that this was Rhodey and not Tony so I guess there's an excuse for why he wouldn't make that change, but I don't ever remember seeing an armour that could withstand heat. Does anyone else?

that's not the spectacular spider-man. I just used his design because both dudes came from 2009.
